A bit of a leading question, but I’d like to know if some of the issues I’m having are just my own or are just being tolerated.

I made a post earlier this week about an issue I’m trying to resolve with GBA (so far specifically Pokemon Emerald), and up until now I’ve only tried Knulli. The game works great, up until a random moment where it freezes, the sound starts skipping, and it reboots.

Now, the consensus was that I should try NextUI, and I did, but my first impression hasn’t been great; and I want to know if I’m missing something. I haven’t played any games yet, but this is what has happened:

- 1. The install didn’t work the first few times (Brick wouldn’t power on with SD card). I formatted the SD the same way with Rufus (non-bootable, MBR, EXFAT, default cluster size), and only on the 3rd time did it work (Maybe this is user error- Please correct me if so, because I can’t find any guides nor info on this or installation in general)

* * *I did download the current version over OTA after doing this, so I believe the remaining issues are not caused by this. Using a 128gb Amazon basics SD card

  1. I frequently hear that Knulli takes far too long to shut down, but with NextUI my LEDs are staying on 5+ seconds after the screen turns off.

  2. NextUI is sometimes turning back on after shutdown. This worries me since it’s shutdown-related and I’ve heard about the limbo issue in the past making bricks out of some peoples’ Bricks. I’ve seen the rare comment stating the limbo issue is still a thing despite it being stated as fixed.

  3. Device didn’t rumble on shutdown a couple times. Same concerns as my last point.

Is the hype around NextUI only for its simplicity and for those who don’t want to tinker, or is it also just performing better?

I apologize if I’m coming off as rude towards a free, community-driven software, but, aside from the first issue, I’m wondering about the stability the OS and the chances of it causing my device to fail. I actually like some of the features unique to the OS (pak store: love it), and I want to enjoy them, but I can’t afford to buy another Brick Hammer if mine combusts.

Thanks - TED Talk over.

Hi

I’m new to 3D printing and pursing it for metal casting, and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure what all I need to improve here:

My benchy looks like a Flying Dutchman with all the cobwebs, and I heard that that could be either high temperature or something to do with extrusion?

Another thing I noticed was the bulge in the hull that you can see clearly (I’m terribly sorry for picking white) in the second picture. Is this the notorious benchy hull line?

Not sure if the text on the bottom is right: it’s clear and legible, but not very deeply engraved. I originally leveled the bed a tad too low (took 4 hours and hurt my neck) so I put in an offset of .01 mm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially things I might have missed- I’m trying to get these as accurate as possible so I can get good casts. I just don’t understand how anyone can understand everything going into this it’s overwhelming. Can provide more pics if needed.

- DETAILS:

FIL: Creality CE series ivory pla

PRINTER: Ender 3 V2 (stock)

201C nozzle temp

59C bed temp

I’d estimate room was about 65-70F?

Sliced in Orca w/ default settings based on printer model and adding that G92 E0 thing to the code and changing to 10% infill. Used a glue stick for bed adhesion

How’s everyone’s experience with GBA on the brick?

This is about the eighth or so crash I’ve experienced trying to play Pokemon Emerald- the picture freezes, the sound starts stuttering like a skipping record, and then it just reboots.

Thought it was just an mGBA issue, but now it’s happening on gPSP.

I’m running the latest version of Knulli, but looking it up I’m seeing there have been folks having this same issue on other firmwares. I saw a comment on another post saying this might have something to do with the real time clock for all Pokemon games specifically. And, to be fair, I’ve only had this problem for Emerald but not games like WarioWare or Pokemon Pinball.

Thanks in Advance.
