Metrolink tickets now automatically expire 5 hours after PURCHASE, not activation.
Previously you could buy the ticket earlier in the day and later activate the ticket prior to boarding to start the timer. Now the countdown starts automatically and activating just generates the QR code.
Also I saw there are new readers/scanners installed on Platforms 3/4B. Anyone know what those are going to be for? I'll get a photo tomorrow.
