“Chicken Song” by LolaCrow on Etsy!
Pleased with how this looks, considering I eyeballed about 80% of the colors and swapped with what was in my stash. Going to do all the backstitching first, adjust the chicken feet so they don’t take up much vertical space, and then go add the extra leaf color if I have time (mother’s day present!)

Framing this myself so I’m not too worried about how little space is at the bottom. I will probably regret this, but for now it seems doable!

I have a character I would love to make come to life, but I'm struggling to think of how to make this basket backpack work in a way that's sturdy!

My goals:

  • A functional backpack I can store items in, as this is something I want to wear to the renn faire/LARPing
    • It doesn't have to be one large compartment. Each basket can be its own 'pocket' and open in different ways
  • Have at least two baskets, ideally more to help fit the vision
  • Lightweight so a non-athletic person won't struggle to carry it. (it's me. I'm working out but only recently)

Other things of note:

  • I can take care of the ribbons, hanging potions, and any linings that I might put in there
  • I have access to PVC pipe and copper wiring? idk if that'll be useful
  • I can sew at a beginner level

Thank you so much in advance!! I'll try to answer any questions that might come up.

Trying to stretch my sewing skill here - A friend designed me an incredible character that I am determined to make real for my October renn faire.

I have no idea what to look for that will end up with a lightweight fabric that resists wrinkles, and can either be dyed or already looks like the white and green fabric in the attached picture.

Any suggestions appreciated! (and i wouldn’t say no to a similar pattern, though I’ll get to that part in time ;) )

Esme, if you see this, no you don’t

Freshly washed (and clearly not ironed 😅) just to add a little something extra!

Well, it’s a wet spring, so the mosquitoes are out in force. Walking in the evenings is already becoming a source of frustration and it’s far too warm for my usual hoodie.

Thinking of making some loose hoodies/boleros out of a linen or other wicking, lightweight fabric to protect my arms and neck. I’ve been bit through clothes before, but it’s certainly better than having nothing at all.

Any suggestions or tips on this? I have a pattern for a basic hoodie i like (Mood’s boxy one) but not sure if that’ll translate well to this use case

Having a great time personalizing my WolfeyVGC bag! Two bugs done…and internet points for a correct guess on who I’m doing next!!

Bonus close ups of the Butterfree and Yanma (hiding on the back) that were already completed :)
