For context, my wife and I have been foster parents for just over 2 years.

Last year, we had a kid, so I celebrated.

This year, we haven't had a kid since February and so I didn't plan anything.

I'm really not sure what the expectations are around mother's Day when you foster.

My wife said "I'm just going to ask, do I not deserve a mother's day because we don't have a kid right now" and apologized and she walked away saying "okay".

Now what?

Edit: I had a talk with her, and apologized. I explained that it didn't occur to me to celebrate without a kid, but that I understand that she still was a foster mom this year, and that she still does the training and meetings (even between kids). She still has responsibilities even between children.

I'm going to see if we can out tonight after work, or at least get take out.

Idk if I'll have time for flowers, but maybe I can grab some tomorrow.
