Lamictal rash bad update

Hey everyone, if you remember me, I posted here a few weeks ago about my rash from lamictal and all the medical negligence. Well, after being on steroids and benadryl, it was fading away. Most of it actually went away completely and my skin looked brand new.

Well… it’s back.

I’ve been taking all my medication (I did miss one round of it the other day). On Friday I noticed a few dots coming back, and since then it’s just gotten worse. These pictures are from this morning. I feel like some of the spots feel like they’re turning into blisters. And there’s a purple hue to my skin all over. My nose and mouth are also burning!!! My toenails are also VERY purple. We are about to go to the ER again. I will update what happens.

Update: It’s been around 8 hours since I posted this. I went to the ER and they prescribed me stronger steroids. The rash is looking better but at the same time still spreading up my stomach and chest more. But they said it really should start going down again, and to come back to the ER if it worsens. I think it’ll be okay guys! But I’m still so upset at the whole situation and how honestly traumatic its been, especially for it to suddenly come back after it was pretty much gone ☹️ We’ve been contacting lawyers about the medical negligence aspect but the process is very slow (if you’re not sure what I’m talking about, you can go to my profile to see my posts on here from around 2 weeks ago)

I also want to add another thing that’s been happening during this is a complete loss of appetite/nausea when eating! I have lost 16 pounds in the past 3 1/2 weeks ever since I first started the Lamictal, and even now after it was discontinued. That’s pretty crazy

Anyway thank you all again SO MUCH for your overwhelming support and advice throughout this! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

How much should I sell her for?

This LPS has the pink highlight bacteria as you can see in the pictures, but otherwise she’s pretty good. I know this is a rare pet but the price is probably lower because of the pink stuff. Please let me know what you think I should sell her for

I made this patchwork hoodie and want to sell it, but I’m not sure what to price it at! Please help! :)

Hi all! I haven’t updated since yesterday when I came to the ER again.

The pictures are what the rash looks like right now. It was looking a lot better earlier, almost completely faded in some areas, but it’s back. Definitely not as bad as the pictures from yesterday though!

After I was seen for a bit, they took me to my own room and drew some blood. Then they gave me stronger Benadryl through an IV that immediately began helping fade the rash a lot. But, a few hours later, the rash started coming back even more. So they gave me another round of Benadryl, but yet again the rash just doesn’t want to stop flaring. Last night was especially hard as the burning in my groin, lips, mouth, nose, and all over my whole body wouldn’t stop. I also just keep having so many pains in my heart/stomach/liver, but that may be because I’m on so many medications. But at this point I don’t know what to think because this can affect so many things! I may just be paranoid now haha

I was given Benadryl again a few hours ago but the rash is flaring up pretty bad right now. I saw a doctor this morning that unfortunately wasn’t very attentive, as he even said something like “well how do we know for sure it’s not measles since you aren’t vaccinated against it” (which btw I will be getting when this is all over) even though everyone else here said it’s definitely from Lamictal. And the fact that the rash temporarily does react to the Benadryl shows its a reaction. So I’ll be asking for everything in writing, specifically stating that the rash is from the Lamictal. A nurse told me that if I hadn’t caught this so early, it very well could have led to SJS considering the severity of the rash and the high dosage. It was mostly the one doctor who both me and my mom felt wasn’t taking me very seriously.

An allergist and possibly a dermatologist is coming in soon to further assess me. I will update again later today. Thank you all so much again for the overwhelming support and advice. This is such a great community :)

I also hope this situation helps to spread awareness and make sure you are advocating for yourself always and to know what you are being given!

If you remember my other post about my Lamictal rash, I’m at the ER for the fourth time now because it’s gotten worse. I now also feel stinging in my mouth and nose and even my nails are starting to be a purplish color. But, no skin peeling or lesions.. yet. I have been taking all the medication they’ve given me yet it’s gotten worse so I came here. They’re keeping me overnight to monitor me. I’m really scared ☹️ I’ll be updating you guys.

I also plan to possibly sue the psychiatrist/drug company because:

- I was not warned AT ALL about any kind of rash from Lamictal, or any symptoms at all. And because I was given them while in inpatient, it’s not like I could research anything. (One comment said it was on me to ask about symptoms… it’s a law that symptoms, especially for something like SJS, MUST be told to the patient. It’s not on the patient to ask.)

- The bottle of lamictal I received has no warning label about a rash, SJS, or TEN

-The psychiatrist put me on 100 MG to start with which is already dangerous

I currently am in the ER for the fourth time. My last update I made was I was put on medication for the reaction from the second ER. Well, I woke up this morning with the rash so much worse.

Everything is burning including inside my mouth, nose, even my vagina now. They are keeping me overnight to monitor me since they don’t know if this will turn into SJS or not. I will update everyone with what happens.

Please read this!

I posted here yesterday about my rash from Lamictal. Please read that post first then come here!

Today my rash, specifically on my left arm, is fading. However some of the dots have turned quite purple and still hurt. My butt has the most purple blotches near where the crack is. My main concern is that sometimes when I breathe in, I feel a sharp pain where my stomach and liver are, as well as sometimes in my throat. It’s not constant but when it does happen it hurts. Also, I think I do see spots/bumps on my labia that may not have been there before, but I’m not entirely sure.

I’m on steroids, benadryl, antibiotics, and antiacid that the second ER gave me.

Do you suggest I go back to the ER (the one who actually helped)? They told me to come back if I begin getting lesions or if the skin starts to slough and I haven’t. The rash is slowly fading too. It’s just that the breathing thing is kinda weird.

PLEASE HELP! I started Lamictal a week ago when I went to inpatient. Yesterday i noticed a few dots on my arms and back but nothing crazy. I then got a fever and swollen lymph nodes. Today however the rash is rapidly spreading. The rash is the worst on my butt, it’s like covering both cheeks almost and burns. I went to the ER twice today and both times they said it’s likely measles. I voiced my concerns about SJS but they said they’re just gonna wait for the results about measles to come back in 3 days.

The last picture is the one blister I have on the side of my hip.

I’m 18F and on 100 MG of Lamictal, but I don’t know what I started on or when the psychiatrist at inpatient upped it. Do I go to the ER again/ a different ER??

UPDATE: I went to a different ER and they immediately told me it was an allergic reaction to Lamictal. I was throughly looked at by a doctor who’d seen an SJS case before, and he said there were no spots that suggested SJS right now, however it needs to be monitored in case something comes up. I was given many things to help the rash fade (this was around an hour and a half ago) and my face and arms are significantly better. But my butt and back are still the same. And they also tested my urine that came back with a UTI, and they said it may have caused the fever.

I’m very upset that one, I wasn’t told that Lamictal had any side effects at all and was put on 100MG by a random psychiatrist at an inpatient within a few days of starting it. I started it 10 days ago. Mind you, this psychiatrist seemed to just give everyone meds within a day of their arrival. And two, the hospital I visited the first two times just dismissed my concerns and told me it was measles. I’m very thankful I posted to Reddit and was told to advocate for myself and go somewhere else. Is there any legal thing here I can figure out?

I’m still scared that it will be SJS. I’m back home now but can barely sleep as I’m terrified I will wake up tomorrow with everything worse. The hospital I went to however was very thorough and everything, but you never know for sure.

UPDATE 2: I just want to thank everyone again. If I hadn’t been told to go to a different ER, who knows how much it would keep progressing. I had already stopped taking the medication but it just kept spreading all day yesterday. I woke up today with the rash significantly more faded. Everything is still there, but much lighter. My face specifically looks so much better! And my fever broke as well. I’m so thankful for everyone taking me seriously here, especially the second ER I went to. Again, the doctor I saw wanted to immediately search my whole body for any concerning blistering. He said the one time you see a SJS case, you will never forget it. He was very serious, so I was truly in good hands. I will update again in a few days about how healing is going. Thank you all again :)

I just took more pictures after I got back from the ER for the second time. It keeps getting worse in such a short span of time. Just 24 hours ago there weren’t even many dots on me. The ER told me it’s likely measles even after I told them about the recent Lamictal medication. Please help

Terrible rash that began yesterday but only as a few dots, now it’s rapidly spreading. It’s the absolute worst on my butt and looks 10x worse than my back. Help!

UPDATE: After reading the comments, I immediately went to the ER. I told them everything including how I started Lamictal last week and they said they still think it’s measles, and test results will come back in 3 days. However, I am still so concerned especially after reading all the comments. Is there any way the ER was wrong? Because this is still rapidly spreading all over my body. My face is worse now than when I took the photo I posted above. My butt is also the worst spot that burns with the rash growing more and more. I just don’t know what to do. They seemed pretty dismissive of my concerns.

Also, some were asking: I’m 18F and unfortunately my parents chose not to vaccinate me as a child. I wish I could have been given that option.

UPDATE 2: I went back to that same ER around 7 hours later because the rash kept spreading rapidly and they again said measles. Reddit however pushed me to go to a different ER. So I did, and they immediately told me it was an allergic reaction to Lamictal. I also apparently have a UTI that they said may have caused the fever?
