Is anyone else experiencing very long install times for the May 2026 update?
Today (5.13.26) a notification popped up on my Alienware m17 17 r5 laptop for the May 2026 Win11 update so I hit the install button expecting it to install at the normal pace (usually a minute or two). My screen has been black & the keyboard lights have been cycling for almost 2 hours now.
I've been looking everywhere to get some answers & the only thing I could find was an AI generated answer on Google saying that "due to new background automatic recovery processes and the need to recompile many .NET Framework components. If the update seems stuck, it is often repairing itself, and leaving it running is recommended".
Has anyone in the community had this issue? I'm starting to panic because I need my laptop to keep all my moms finances, medical appointments, etc in order (she's 85 with cancer & dementia). This is my first post in this sub - any info would be very appreciated.
