I am doing my valve clearance on my 2025 ZX6R with 7600 miles on it. For those who have done there and for those who are mechanics by trade did you or would you reuse the valve cover gasket?
I am replacing the spark plug gaskets and the valve cover bolt o-rings/gaskets and just wanted to know if it was necessary at this mileage to do the valve cover gasket + renew the RTV in the half-moons. I do not have any leaks at this time.
So we all know about the 24-26 recall issue for the ZX-6R. I took the bike in on the first recall notice, it passed, then I got a second letter and took it in a second time and it passed. Two months down the road after the second recall check and my bike fully died on me while I was on the freeway. Managed to get off, but when I came to a stop the bike powered off and won't turn back on. Changed the battery and no fix so I took it into the shop. The mechanic calls back after a day and says the engine is seized up. I don't know how it's possible for a one year old bike to randomly lock up the engine. If someone could, with their expertise, explain why an engine would randomly seize up. I'm thinking the mechanics didn't change the oil after doing the recall check and they put the old oil back in twice which caused my engine to seize. If there's another possible explanation then I'm willing to listen.
2023, got it with a couple goodies and came with some gear. Absolutely love this thing
Hypothetically, I wanted to sell my rebuilt title 2024 ZX6R, what would be a reasonable listing price/sale price? No visible damage from (unless very closely inspected). Recently got into Med school and looking to sell. LIVE IN MIDWEST
-No mechanical issues. Bought from Copart with slight dent in tank (covered by tank cover), and very slight scratches to left side fairings (covered)
-Decatted headers + ECU flash tune (Moore mafia) with M4 slip on.
- K&N air filter
-Zero gravity double bubble windscreen
-Domino Grips
-3 total oil changes done.
-cleared of 2 recalls (can provide paper work)
-OEM fairings
2026 ABS brand new from dealer. Original asking price was 16,200. Negotiated all the way down to 14,200. This is in Texas. Fair price?
picked up this 2008 zx6r with only 11,000 miles on the dash. i’m kinda stupid and didn’t know the 07-08 models were built with a 599cc engine for speed/performance as compared to the 636cc with more torque. i really want to convert it to a stunt bike but im wondering if it would work out well considering the less torque it has, if anybody has or had a 07-08 and stunted it out or knows more than me please let me know id love to throw a cage some bars and a stunt tank for it but just not sure if it would be worth it.
Hey guys I just picked up a 2026 zx6r and I was wondering if I needed to change the suspension settings and how I would go about doing that. I’m 6f 3in 230lb. Is this something I can do myself or should I take the bike in somewhere?
I installed these levers about three months ago and I’m just a bit confused. Nothing is wrong with working the clutch, it’s just very wobbly.
I low sided and totalled my ZX4R around a year back while filming a stupid cornering video. I had 1 year of riding experience and been riding scooters or small motorcycles on and off for years without any crash before that.
I have learned my lesson, and I swear to never participate in street stupidity anymore. I don't want to ride fast anymore on street, and keep my speeds below 50-60mph on backroads and maximum 80-90 mph on highways/straights.
Will the ZX6R be enjoyable at these speeds? or is it the kind of bike that I won't enjoy unless I'm tracking or ripping it in the twisties?
I loved my ZX4R for its ability to juice itself out even at moderate speeds, but sadly that bike is discontinued in my country now.
I love the inline 4 scream and this is the lowest powered inline 4 bike I can buy right now.
Am I making a big mistake by buying this bike? Will it be too much for me on the streets?
Finally pulled the trigger and bought for first brand new bike. I didn’t even try to negotiate the price because i felt like it was a good deal. What are y’all opinion?
Ive been looking to buy my first bike and have come across this 2015 zx6r in my area. 2nd owner, No service history( says he does his own) and has none from previous owner. He was asking $8,750, I offered $7500 and he countered with $8,200. Is this bike worth it at this price? are there red flags here that I’m missing? Or problems with this year bike or mileage? I don’t know much about bikes and don’t want to get hosed on my first. Any help is appreciated!
Just a general question to see what guys are thinking of your bikes, new or old. Maybe what you also dislike about it too. I'm really liking my '24
Having slight movement in the slip-on to the bread box even with the clamp fully tight and clamp seems to look okay, new OEM gasket installed too, any thoughts?
Has anyone installed quadlock while having the ohlins steering damper as well?
2025 model
