What do you think about it?
Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about starting a super low-pressure, casual book club here in Zurich and wanted to see if anyone would be interested.
The idea is pretty simple:
This is mainly for people who:
Nothing too structured yet, we could shape it together depending on who joins.
If this sounds like something you'd be into, drop a comment or DM me. Also open to suggestions on how to run it (Discord? WhatsApp? Monthly polls for books?)
Curious to see if there’s interest!
Happy Weekend :)
Anywhere in and around Züri that does an amazing club sandwich?
I just moved to Zurich and am looking for a partner to play tennis with in the evenings or on weekends. Preferably looking for someone near Seebach, but I'm open to commuting.
I'm around level 3 to 3.5 on this scale: https://innercitytennis.org/adult-tennis/player-skill-levels/
Would also appreciate any recommendations/advice for tennis clubs and locations to play (are there any public courts with free drop in times or is everything paid?).
Can anyone recommend good coffee capsules compatible with Nespresso that I can buy in Zurich?
I usually buy Vicafe ones and they are actually really good. However, I want to try new ones.
I like more mild/soft coffee so original Nespresso capsules are not the best because the taste is too strong.
Thank you :)
While looking at prices for aligner treatment, I came across Zahnfair. Their prices are available on their website while many other clinics don't really give you a clear indication without booking a personal consultation first. Zahnfair starts at 3950.- for both jaws and everything included and goes up to 4950.- for medium-complex cases. On comparis I can see that other clinics can cost almost 2-3 times as much. So now my question is how Zahnfair can keep prices so low and if the quality of their service suffers for it. Do any of you have experience with them, especially with their aligner treatment? Thanks! :)
I have to buy a new backpack. I am looking for one that I can use everyday to go to work, carry a computer and few other things, but also that I can use when travelling, hiking etc. Freitag backpacks look like they are very solid and will last long because of the materials, which I like. I am a bit worried about how comfortable they are when you carry one for a whole day. Any experiences here? I think people either love them or hate them.
How did you find the right sports club? I’m finally at a point where I have a bit more time again, and now I’d like to get back into team sports and join a club. Since I’ve done many different sports before, there isn’t one specific sport I want to go for right away, so I’m looking for some inspiration. However, I don’t want to join ASVZ. Are there other lists, websites, or directories where I can browse and see what sports clubs exist in Zurich?
How did you find your sports club?
Our apartment building (STWEG) in Zurich is currently looking for a new property manager as our current one is moving on.
We’re looking for a firm (ideally small to medium-sized) that is proactive with maintenance, transparent with the accounting/renovation fund, and shows up to the annual meetings with a plan and can help guide through planned upcoming renovations.
For the owners/landlords here: Who manages your building, and would you recommend them?
Thanks for any leads!
Can anyone explain the situation?
Why the push for more bikes when people don't clearly want them?
As a foreigner I find Zurich extremely walkable and cyclable. To the point I think no dedicated lanes are needed.
But I find a small group of people is really trying to make Zurich car free. In a city where, even with great public transport, people prefer to drive. Car parks always full and bike lanes always empty.
I think I even see more e-scooters being used than bikes.
So why this push? The majority of people ask it or it's just the people in power decided to do so?

I've been hanging out at the Limmat this afternoon, and I'm kinda surprised that I didn't see a single Schlauchboot as of yet. Yes, there's construction work going on at Höngger Wehr, but even though the "pier" is currently closed, you can still get out under Europabrücke, and could get back in from Werdinsel. The weather surely is suitable. The water is a bit cool still but... I think it is time to make the first move!
