Yerba + pizza and Turkish chicken pie. Best combo ever. Yerba mate + pizza y pastel de pollo turco, la mejor combinación de todas.

Bought one of these to compare and …

Ive seen these cans before and aways ignored them, decided to buy one today to compare and because I was curious to see how much are they fooling consumers with this product.

First impression was “thats a shit load of sugar” followed by a Second impression: this doesn’t taste anything remotely close to actual Yerba Mate. After a few more sips I could feel the rush of caffeine hitting me but in a different way than actual Yerba mate, this one feels closer to a Red Bull. I wanted to try one without the added fruity flavors but couldn’t find it or maybe they don’t have the option 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Finally, this tastes like a highly caffeinated kool-aid drink and I might just throw the rest away 🥴.

Now I wish I had some real Mate to wash the bad flavor in my mouth away. If you are curious to try one out go ahead but I would advise you to stay away from this abomination.

Enjoy your week everyone 🤙 🧉.

Yerba mate before or during work.

I'm new to yerba mate and I'm used to drinking my coffee quickly before work. I don't have a lot of time in the morning (Max 30-45 min). Since you refill your gourd numerous time, do people usually drink their yerba that fast ? If not, should I just start drinking at work ? How do you work it out when you don't have a lot of time in the morning ?

I really want to like this one i do, but at the same time its just another mid playadito....

Honestly should have figured when I thought regular playadito was boring af should have stuck with my Kurupi and Amanda .

Drinking mate with one of my favourite gourds.

As per usual, PU yerba, Brazilian yerba with a Uruguayan cut. This time using Rei Verde Export Premium. This yerba has a smoky undertone to it, like Canarias Especial, even if it doesn’t quite have the same character. Intensity-wise, I would compare its strength to Esmeralda, but with a more complex flavour profile due to its prolonged aging of 24 months, according to Rei Verde.

How many thermos did you drink today?

Honestly, how do you guys do it? ajaj Is drinking 2 or even 3 thermos a day normal?

I’ve been getting more into mate lately and overall I really enjoy it, it keeps me awake and focused. So far I’ve tried CBSe (not a fan), Taragüi, Amanda, Canarias (too strong for me), and Playadito (my fav).

But I honestly struggle to even finish one Thermolar (1L). The amount of water alone makes me feel like I have to go pee every hour jaja

Is it just that my body isn’t used to drinking that much yet? Or is my caffeine/mateína tolerance just low? If I keep drinking nonstop, I eventually start feeling anxious/jittery… which makes it hard for me to imagine how some people drink two or even three thermos a day.

Asking due to an Instagram post I just saw, with the same question and the comments were full of people saying 2-3 some other 4 thermos a day which is actually insane for me!

Don Conrado: what do you think?

IMO this yerba is on the sweeter side. Reminds me of Playadito a bit, but it's more sour. It has some disctinctive "wooden" smell and taste. I like it, could be my daily driver for a while.

Your thoughts on my custom Torpedo (Syria)

Grown up with mate in my hand. It's more than just a drink; it's pure bliss. Cheers!

I have been drinking guayaki cans for over a decade and am aware their quality has dropped overtime, but this new rebrand is insane. It’s a completely different beverage now. I understand wanting to make it “healthier” but it has come at the cost of the flavors people come to expect from this wide reached brand. Instead of making a mate that tastes sweet with less sugar, they’ve created fruit juice saturated in stevia. If I wanted sugar free lemonade, I would’ve just bought that. Has been a daily drink for years that I guess I’ll have to give up. It’s especially disappointing because this brand is a lot of people’s first introduction to Yerba mate, and while it has never been truly authentic it is now just bad. Is anyone else feeling this way, or am I totally off base?

EDIT: yall, I KNOW this isn’t authentic but it’s convenient when I’m traveling or have a tight schedule. It’s the fast food version of Yerba, and I would be bummed if McDonald’s completely changed their nugget recipe too.

Please excuse the intrusion..

Im sorry for dropping in on you like this.

I am EXTREMELY new to Yerba Mate .. im on day 2 of trying the infusion !

I wanted to touch base with some people that are more knowledgeable about Yerba and explore more.

I am on a weightloss journey and staying hydrated is proving to be a struggle at the moment .. so I started exploring some ways to enjoy drinks and hopefully increase fluids.

Im not usually one for hype and trends but I came across Yerba Mate and it seemed to tick a lot of boxes ..

- Caffeinated, having given up Coffee after finding it increased my appetite.

- Herbal

- A "ceremony" giving me the chance to savour the drink, the steps and not just boil a kettle and gulp down a drink. Very important with the psychology of weightloss.

- A fresh new taste.

- Long lasting .. just keeps giving !

I bought some CBSé Guarana, a small ceramic gourde and hit the Internet for further advice 🤦‍♀️

Im not 100% sure i got this right but OMG I was not expecting this.

The taste alone is incredible .. earthy, warm and rich. Not something I expected from a "tea". I'm not sure if its because I've been off coffee for a few months but caffeine was super refreshing and not at all bitter as I expected.

I LOVE how you keep topping up the Gourd and it just gets better each time.

I LOVE how you have this perfectly palm size, warm cup to hold as you savour the drink.

The whole removal from shoving a tea bag in a mug and sploshing milk in it is a delight.

Now .. I apologise .. come the questions.

I think ive nailed the mount and popping the Bombilla in properly .. dont worry, I don't move it once its in place 😊

Water temp .. I've found around 70⁰ makes a soothing brew and ive bought a flask to keep water at hand.

Ive also been adding a few slices of lemon and honey to the flask to steep, before adding to my Gourd. I couldn't think of how to sweeten my brew any other way (not be able to stir the brew) and ive given up sweeteners, so adding that was not an option.

Does anyone have some ideas or tips re temp and sweetening ??

What brands or varieties would be good to try next, i bought a 500g packet but with how much im enjoying this, I cant see it lasting me too much longer.

Time scale .. ive seen some mention of taking, all day to drink the brew. I have to admit, ive been pretty much drinking in one sitting .. is this ok ?

And lastly .. has anyone found any health benefits ? Energy, weightloss support or general wellbeing improvement ?

Im sorry for the essay and Thank-you for any input you guys may have 😊
