Happy Anniversary to Blue Blood!💙Released April 21 1989💙Tour Book Appreciation!

As always, please forgive glare and imperfections as I used my phone.  I acquired some big-ass tour books at plenty of rock shows back in the 80’s (still have them all!) but none as big as this…measures 14 x 20 unopened.  The merch people couldn’t tack on another 2 inches horizontally so a single page can fit into a standard 16 x 20 frame (if one were inclined)? 😸  Still an awesome, epic piece, though… HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BLUE BLOOD! 💙

New fan in UK!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience finding X Japan late last year.

I’m a huge rock/metal fan and was trying to find something new to listen to. I came across an article which listed a few metal epics and sure enough Art of Life was on there. It may be an understatement when I say my mind was blown. I listened to this song on repeat for weeks without any thought to listen to anything else they have released.

I even wrote down the song order of how I got into them. It was Art of Life, Silent Jealousy, Rusty Nail, Endless Rain, Jade then Week End.

Now, after several months of listening to them regularly I can honestly say they’re now one of my favourite bands. What an incredible group of musicians.

It sucks that I have only discovered them now they’re gone (again). What a thrill it must have been to see them live.

When did you first hear them? What was the first song you heard? Please share your experiences!

Rusty Nail = Old School Cool 🍸 "The Cocktail The Rat Pack Loved"

Had a nice smile when this article popped in the daily homepage feed on my phone. When I discovered X in 2021, the first thing I ever said about the song Rusty Nail before ever hearing it was, "What, like the cocktail?" 😸

The Rusty Nail is a personal drink fave and I love that it is making a comeback! Maybe it will finally become old hat to all those bartenders (excuse me....mixologists) I have crossed paths with who never heard of it and had to Google how to make it. (It's 2 damn ingredients.) 😸

Hey, Yoshiki....darling.... You already have a signature wine and you have endorsed the likes of 7-11 and McDonald's. How about getting in on the Scotch racket or partnering with Drambuie? There's a whole "new school cool" campaign here waiting to happen. Just sayin'. 😁✌️🍸

What do you guys honestly think of Yoshiki as a drummer?

He’s absolutely got immense skill, but I personally feel that his drumming lacks much groove. Every solo of his I’ve seen is impressive, but after time, they devolve into my ears as a simple show of soulless speed. He sounds like a squirrel having a seizure on a drum kit. I feel his drumming has hardly developed since the amateur and Blue Blood days.
