X Japan💙Blue Blood Album Anniversary (released April 21 1989)💙X LIVE

X Japan has been repped in this sub as hair metal adjacent ~ however, in my opinion, they could easily go alongside EZO and Loudness instead of being solely pegged as Visual Kei, which was heavily inspired by Western glam to begin with.  And hey, there is another legit connection as bass player Taiji was a member of Loudness for a while, right there with Masaki of EZO 🤯.  Their first 3 albums ~ Vanishing Vision, Blue Blood, and Jealousy ~ are a trifecta and must-listens, in my opinion, for anyone who is unfamiliar but would like an introduction.  It is all just as solid and strong as anything that was relevant here in the States during the era.  It remains unfortunate that they never broke through here back then…I did not find them until 2021 and have been making up for lost time ever since.

Today (April 21 2026) marks the 37^(th) anniversary of the release of Blue Blood ~ dropped on April 21 1989 as their major label debut.  (The actual first album, Vanishing Vision, was an indie release.) This live clip is of their signature song, X, from that tour.

Rest in peace, hide and Taiji…love and miss you both. 🙏💙🙏

Happy Anniversary to X Japan's Blue Blood!💙Released April 21 1989💙Tour Book Appreciation!

Forgive glare and imperfections as I used my phone.  I acquired some big-ass tour books at plenty of rock shows back in the 80’s (still have them all!) but none as big as this…measures 14 x 20 unopened.  The merch people couldn’t tack on another 2 inches horizontally so a single page can fit into a standard 16 x 20 frame (if one were inclined)?  Still an awesome, epic piece, though… 💙

Rusty Nail = Old School Cool 🍸 "The Cocktail The Rat Pack Loved"

Had a nice smile when this article popped in the daily homepage feed on my phone. When I discovered X in 2021, the first thing I ever said about the song Rusty Nail before ever hearing it was, "What, like the cocktail?" 😸

The Rusty Nail is a personal drink fave and I love that it is making a comeback! Maybe it will finally become old hat to all those bartenders (excuse me....mixologists) I have crossed paths with who never heard of it and had to Google how to make it. (It's 2 damn ingredients.) 😸

Hey, Yoshiki....darling.... You already have a signature wine and you have endorsed the likes of 7-11 and McDonald's. How about getting in on the Scotch racket or partnering with Drambuie? There's a whole "new school cool" campaign here waiting to happen. Just sayin'. 😁✌️🍸

Rest in peace, Reita 🙏 Gone 2 years today (April 15 2026)

Considering the incredible amount of drama that has been going on with The GazettE recently, I honestly do not have any words except for it remains a sad day in Gaze history and Reita will forever be loved and missed. Rest in peace, dearest Reita.... 🙏❤️🙏
