Using XP for the first time in 10y

Hey, so uh, context before I go on with yapping about my XP experience in 2026:

I come from a strict family, and my computers that I had from 2009 to 2016 ran XP. I did use linux and windows 7 inbetween, but that was on other people's computers.

So, I decided to install XP on a Dell Vostro 1310 I scored at my previous job, along with everything I used to use on my xp machine back in the day, and more (except one game that doesn't like my laptop's hardware config) so I can re-experiece my childhood as an almost 22y person.

What's kinda sad is that using XP makes me wish that I could use it as my main OS... I just love the look and feel of it, and just how awesome it is as a whole. It's so fast, fluid, and responsive, even while heavily multitasking with a modern web browser (Supermium).

I actually dunno what more there is that I can add, other than I've been lurking in this sub for a bit, lol.

Is security super important on XP in 2026?

I'm just wondering, I've used windows XP for a year, but I've never once thought about security. I've always just ran XP on an admin account with no AV, no nothing, with my only defense being my router and Firefox on onecore api. That computer was a Dell d505 with a Pentium M. However, I now have a T430 that's 2000% more powerful which in theory opens the door to stuff like firewalls and antivirus software. Although, is security that big of a concern on XP, is there a real risk to running XP? I'm mainly going to use XP at home and also connected to a hotspot when I'm not, so I don't know how far I should go with securing the OS.

Has anybody tried to use Product Activation Portal online in 2026 for windows xp?

I've been researching to see if a person was able to activate windows xp using (https://visualsupport.microsoft.com/) aka The Product Activation Portal.

One person has posted on the Microsoft Forum on March 25 2026 that they couldn't activate anything other then windows 7

Link here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windowsosplatformdiscussions/the-new-activation-portal-is-partly-broken-but-it-is-a-major-inconvenience-for-m/4505761

I'm just want to see if it's truly if anyone was able to do it even if you were forced to login to you Microsoft account to activate it.

Windows XP Latitude E6500 No Drivers

I have a Dell Latitude E6500 that I installed Windows XP Professional on (it originally ran Windows 10, and was intended to run Windows 7), and it's missing driver's for Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and several other devices drivers as shown in the picture. I used Rufus to make the installation media on USB, scrounged the Internet for drivers to install, found nothing that worked, including the manufacturers website, and used an official reinstallation disc, which also didn't work. What can I do?

What would be the best way to dual boot Windows XP and Windows 10?

My old Dell Inspiron 530 runs Windows 10 now, but back in the day I had XP on it. I would really like to dual boot XP, but I'm not sure which way would be the easiest. I would ideally like to install it from a disc as I burned a copy of pro years ago and I still have it.

I have an SSD in it too, which I'm not sure XP supports.

Looking for a good up to date Flash browser for XP?

Greetings,

Supermium is good, but does not support flash outside of Ruffle, AFAIK (I could be way wrong, though). I was wondering what the most up to date browser is that can use Clean Flash? I am asking, since I'd like to play Club Penguin private servers (like Club Penguin Journey) on my XP machine, and would like a browser that can handle the websites enough to load without issue, and uses Flash natively, instead of wasting resources with emulating flash.

Any help/advice would be deeply appreciated, and I thank you all for your time.
