which tools do you use for long term player development tracking in your club?

As a young coach trying to modernize our assessment process, I'm looking for recommendations. We typically do CMJ, attack and block jump recordings monthly, also endurance testing and cod drills, but the manual recording is just too time consuming. What tools do you have to make it trackable on the long run?

What Positions Should I Work On?

Hi! I'm a 16F who's going into her junior year. I've been a Middle for my club for about 2 years now. As I'm getting older, I realized that I'm pretty short (5'7, not short in GENERAL but short for my position.) And I really struggled this year because all of the girls were pushing 5'10 or higher. I like to think I have a good vert, but my arms are too small and short lol.

Though I have plans on working on everything this summer before club try outs, I want a certain position to show special attention too. I've played setter for my school, but not for very long. Only half way through freshman year and the entire of my sophomore year.

So I'm curious! Thanks for any advice ahead of time.

How do you master setter positioning?

I’ve only been playing for about two months as a setter and have been facing a hard time with footwork. When my teammates receive it, I’m aware it isn’t always gonna be perfect so it might end up being an over-pass or short pass and that’s where I end up miscalculating where the ball is gonna go. The ball’s trajectory seems like it’s gonna directly go into my hands just for it to slightly go past my head. What are some tips to avoid mis-predictions and positioning?

Need Volleyball Advice as a Beginner 🏐

Hi! I’m a new player and I started playing volleyball around May 2025. I played for about 6 months, but then I had to stop for another 6 months too. I really need advice because I only have around 20 free days to train before school starts again.

For 10 of those days, I can practice with my dad and we can rally together. But for the other 10 days, I’ll mostly be training alone. When I practice by myself, I usually just set and bump the ball since I can’t really spike or hit. We don’t have a backyard, and I also can’t find a wall to practice on because it gets too noisy in our area 😔

One of my biggest problems right now is serving. I can’t get my serve over the net consistently, and it’s hard to improve because I don’t even have a net to practice with at home 😭 I feel like my form and strength still aren’t good enough.

I honestly really love volleyball so much, but sometimes I feel discouraged because I don’t have a volleyball buddy anymore. I also stopped joining clubs because I got too shy to go alone. Our school is going to have tryouts soon, and I really want to join, but I’m scared that I already lost the skills I had from before because of the 6-month break 😔

Do you guys think 20 days is enough to improve again? And what are some things I can practice alone at home to get better, even without a court or a net? I’d really appreciate any advice or motivation from other players because I genuinely want to continue volleyball and improve again 🏐

How do I concentrate on a volleyball match?

I'm an 18 year old female club player and everytime we have a match I can't seem to be able to read the game. I have a pretty good pass and I know how to move and what to do to get to the ball at the best time possible, but everytime I'm playing, I don't react fast enough, I can't read the blocks, the attackers or the trajectory of the ball. I try to concentrate but my mind is elsewhere and I'm not able to get it on the game. Any tips on how to be more present, react faster and read the game?
