Scalper selling unreleased and overpriced doll

This listing is for a doll that's not yet out, definitely overpriced and therefore against vinted ToS. The picture is clearly not theirs since the seller acknowledges they don't have the item.

I reported it on vinted and they said it's not against their ToS, I'm baffled and I fought against their decision.

What else could I do besides reporting it again?

Vinted Is Horrible site

I have never as a seller experienced such unprofessionalism as I have with vinted! I already sell on Poshmark, Mercari, and Depop.....but I was looking for another site to sell on and decided I'd give vinted a try. I should also mention that I am also a business owner of my own shop...I started selling on vinted maybe 3 months ago.... now don't get me wrong I've had a lot of sales on vinted... All my items I put up are authentic and I even have COAS for some of my items...I have done nothing but argue with this site about my listings. They take my listings down I appeal and prove they are authentic they release the listing... It has been 9 days or more regarding my last item they took down stating it was not authentic. I went ahead and had the item authenticated sent them the COA and have yet to hear and response... Vinted has done this with at least several listings... I absolutely take 12 or more pics and I take pics of all tags. You can blatantly see in my pics they are not fake. I have nothing but 5 star reviews from customers... I always answer customers questions and I ship orders within 24 hours...You would think they would treat the sellers that do the right things with some respect! They need a better system because if they keep doing this I'm taking everything down. I definitely do not suggest selling on this app.

How to avoid scams

What are some ways people get scammed on this website beside them sending fake items. I offered to buy this 100 euro camera for 75 and the seller accepted it. It is an old one so not that big of a red flag but the seller has no reviews and all different items have been posted 5 days ago. Again could just be nothing.

Is the vinted buyer protection "perfect"? I mean does it usually work. For example if I receive an empty box or broken camera, or anything this way. I guess if they never send the camera I will just be refunded.

Is there anything I can do?

I’d be so grateful for any advice as I feel like I’m stuck in a labyrinth (and not the cool kind with Muppets and David Bowie…)! I (stupidly) bought some shoes that honestly I really should have realised were fake. I’m an idiot, I know. No worries, I thought - I have Vinted’s buyer protection policy on my side! (Insert womp womp sound here…)

Shoes arrive, are clearly fake, I report the issue, provide lots of photographic evidence proving they’re fake, scammer agrees to the return, post the shoes back, take the photos of it with the postage label, upload them to the app, wait for my refund. It was therefore rather a kick in the teeth on Monday to receive an email saying that I hadn’t provided proof that I’d sent them back and the payment had been released to the seller. I checked the app and sure enough, no sign of my proof of shipping images - I can only assume my app glitched and they didn’t upload. I know I should have checked. I know it’s my fault and I’m an idiot.

Tracking shows the shoes have been delivered back to the seller so I messaged them as Vinted suggested, but the scammer, being a scammer, is ignoring me and clearly delighted they now have my money *and* their crappy fake shoes back. Vinted customer service are just sending me automated “nothing can be done” emails. Am I really seriously out $80 and there’s just nothing I can do?! I’ve left the scammer one star feedback, but is there ANYTHING else I can do? I feel so lost and not to sob story but I am disabled and on a fixed income and this really isn’t money I can afford to lose. I know I’m an idiot, I know it’s my fault, I know I likely have to just suck it up but if there’s anything I can try I’d be so grateful for suggestions.

Vinted siding with scammer

Hi all, quick update on my situation (original post about a buyer trying to return a different item).

I sold a Gymshark Onyx V5 (XS) on Vinted, and the buyer is attempting to return a completely different item (different design + size S).

Vinted has now approved the return, despite the clear mismatch, and asked me to provide evidence. I’ve submitted:

  • Original listing photos
  • Proof of size (XS)
  • Direct comparison showing the buyer’s item is different

It’s now been 3 days with no reply, and the case has been ongoing for over a week. At this point I’m essentially being told to accept a return of an item that:

  • Is not the one I sent
  • Appears clearly inauthentic

This feels completely unacceptable from a seller protection standpoint.

Has anyone dealt with Vinted taking this long or siding like this?

Any advice on pushing this further or protecting myself if they force the return? Appreciate any input.

Does Paloma Wool make this top?

i got really excited on vinted and bought this ‘paloma wool’ wrap top on vinted. it had all the tags on it and the seller even sent it with the bag and cardboard as well. However whenever i google reverse the image i cannot find the real listing on the paloma wool website and only aliexpress comes up or other paloma wool clothes, just not this one.

could someone please clarify to me if this paloma wool top was actually made by paloma wool or if i’ve fell for a scam. I’ve paid £45. it came with tags and the whole ‘happy to be yours’
