Menominee Restaurant Recommendations

Hi there! I’m moving to Menominee this weekend and my birthday is coming up. Any birthday-worthy restaurants you’d recommend within 20 minutes of Menominee? I like everything except seafood!

As the title says. We booked this months ago and I was really excited. A ton of places suddenly extended their hours to open literally a week or two from now because of the extended frost. I'm super bummed, I wanted to kayak Pictured Rocks for years and booked and reserved kayaks for this for my big 30 and this happened, didn't know it was too early :(

We're currently in the cabin, which is also a nightmare. They promised to bump us up to a better suite with a full kitchen, extra bedroom, scenic view, ect a few days before the trip, so we planned accordingly and were excited about that at least. We get here and it's the basic suite. When we asked, they said they made an "oopsie" and offered no apology or anything. 3 minutes into the shower, I lost hot water and had the coldest shower of my life, holy hell I felt hotter doing snow angels in short sleeves 😅

Is there anywhere anyone would recommend that might not be closed right now? I love hikes and hiked some good ones already but I'm not sure I want to occupy my time ENTIRELY with hikes right now.

Edit: Yes, I know not to come in May now, THANKS :))) the places I booked with told me it was fine, I didn't look into it too much as my friend went last year around this time and didn't have issues. It's my first time in the UP. I'm still having a blast but WOW some of y'all are sassy little walnuts. Yes, I know it snowed a couple days ago, the cabin was non refundable and I'm making the best of it. Thank you to the ppl that gave good recommendations. We ended up going to Keeweenaw and rockhounding and doing mine tours, spending two days in Marquette hiking, and checking out a ton of waterfalls like the comments suggested, it was a blast.

We are planning a trip to the upper peninsula. Will fly into Detroit; and we were thinking of staying a night or two in the Mackinac Island area. Beyond that, we could have 8 or 9 nights in the upper peninsula itself. Given that time frame, we could stay in up to 3 different hotels as the area seems quite large. I was wondering what would be a good itinerary for such a trip. We are in our 60s and can do light hiking, sightseeing, boat tours. Would need to stay in towns with restaurant options. We are not interested in camping. Thanks for any advice!

Me and my friends are getting tired of the well known busy swimming spots near ironwood area, we’re looking for a good swimmable river spot preferably secluded/requiring a hike. Scope is limited to gogebic range tho, having trouble finding recs online. If you’d rather gatekeep your area, dm’s are open. Thank you :)

Anyone in Marquette, Gladstone, Escanaba Looking For Friends?

I don’t know what I expect and doubt I'll make any friends. Thought I’ll give it a try anyway.

I’m a female 31, and I’m only looking for female friendship!

I’m into playing video games and I game on PC. Here’s a short list of games I have played and recently Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

I'm into fan fiction and creating OCs. I've got tons of info about the characters I’ve made and would love to share with someone about them. I’m also into makeup, skincare, and hair stuff. Horror movies are my jam, and I watch a variety of shows. Just ask me what I’m into.

I’m really fascinated by the paranormal and supernatural, and I enjoy watching body camera footage and urban exploration videos too. I’m a big fan of memes, especially dark humorous ones. I love history too. I'm big on European history. It's so interesting, especially history in the Czech Republic.

Honestly, I’m just looking for someone who gets me and is patient. I can be socially awkward and not the best at keeping conversations going all the time, so I might go quiet here and there. But I promise I’m not doing it to be mean, I just lack social skills. It’s very difficult for me.

I just wanna go somewhere on a waterfront, hang out, relax, do some walking around, be out by myself...with proper bathroom is about all I care about.

I'm looking around online and most places seem like old campgrounds like where you take the family and kids and what not, plus some AirBnBs....but I don't even know where to start in what areas to look at.

I welcome any suggestions on areas or places to just get a quiet escape.

Anyone know if Ubers are readily available in popular hiking areas of the UP? My boyfriend and I are hiking a 40 mile section of the North Country trail and need to be brought back to our car at the end of the weekend. Thoughts??

I was stationed at Kincheloe AFB ‘76-‘77 (Right before it closed). Wife and I are taking a long road trip in September back there. I know the base was turned into a state prison but was wondering if there’s anything recognizable of the former “base”?

We have an absolutely wonderful sweet girl who is a bully breed 60 pound dog. She is a true joy but she cannot be kenneled as she is very dog reactive.

She is a rescue who comes from a bad background so she has a lot of trust issues and takes someone who 1). Has experience with big bully breed dogs 2). Is willing to take the time to build a relationship with her fearfulness and 3). Doesn't have their own pets.

Ideally, we're looking for someone who has a fenced in yard, and dog experience. She is very crate trained and can be left there comfortably. She wouldn't need walks while we were gone, just outside time and play time.

We would pay $100 a day and we would pay for all the sessions where we bring her to your house for play and get to know you sessions.

This would take some time and we are looking for someone who is willing to build a lasting relationship with her. Once she bonds with you, she is the most loyal loving dog I've ever seen. She loves people but she struggles with confidence if my wife and I are not around. We had lots of success leaving her with two trainers she bonded with, but neither of them are options for boarding any longer.

We are near Marquette but are willing to drive up to 2 hours (maybe more) for the right person.

My husband and I rented a cabin up in Keewanaw for a vacation this summer, and while I'm originally from the UP, I've never been to Keewanaw! We're aware of Agate Beach and a few of the mining tours we can take, but I was hoping for any information on hidden gems in the area? Or things you wouldn't want to miss out on. We're both very interested in ghost towns, graveyards, lighthouses, the beach, and the great outdoors in general. Hoping for any information you're willing to give!

Bonus Points to anyone who can point me to a good place for Fish Fry!

I just wanted to remind anyone from Negaunee to vote today on the bond proposal for the ice rink.

I don’t want to try to sway your vote one way or another but I would love to see the community to come out and voice their opinion.

I am looking for a baker to make my wedding cake for December this year. I would like a single tier 6in for my fiance and I to cut. Then I want sheet cake for the remaining 175 people. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I am not from the UP and won't make it up there till mid to late summer.

Thanks in advance!
