The Immortal Regiment is a movement / event originating in Russia. In it, people march and hold up pictures of their family members who fought in wars. (usually World War 2)

Serbia has its own version of it, and this is the flag associated with it. I own one and so I wanted to share.

Also, I know how Redditors are and will have to go into further detail.

The Russian government has co-opted the event and it is exploited to spread hostile pro-Kremlin and anti-Ukraine rhetoric, which I personally disagree with as I am vehemently pro Ukrainian. (Not pro western tho, don't get too comfortable, NAFO nerds)

But I still think it is generally a good and beautiful thing, we should honor those who fought and died for us, because without them we wouldn't be here today.

I proudly own this flag and support its message, as my great grandfather is actually a part of the Immortal Regiment, he was a partizan who fought the Ustaše.

It is disrespectful of the Kremlin to use the good name of the movement honoring people like him who fought against aggression and oppression to now further their narrative promoting doing the same thing as the Germans back then.

Під час проросійської ходи в Аугсбурзі учасники акції кілька годин несли містом портрети Степана Бандери, письменника Миколи Хвильового та ексголови СБУ Василя Малюка, навіть не підозрюючи про це.

Троє українців заздалегідь проникли в колону з портретами, підписаними вигаданими іменами та фальшивими «радянськими заслугами».

Була ймовірність, що підміну швидко помітять, але ні. Росіяни спокійно пронесли портрети через все місто.

Мабуть, один із найвитонченіших тролінгів на 9 травня 🤌🏻
