archive.phThoughts on the Veda Exclusive Student Housing near UBCO
Hi!! Does anyone have experience with the VEDA Exclusive Student Housing near UBCO in Kelowna, British Columbia? I am talking about the one on 842 Academy Way. I'm an international student interested in getting an unit, but I am worried it might be an scam or a place that is crumbling. Please let me know if you've been there as a guest for a friend or someone who's live it in personally. What are your thoughts on the place. PLS HELP A DESPERATE STUDENT OUT.
Need opinions for engineering summer courses
I have two options:
ENGR 305 with Louzanne Bam
ENGR 468 with Ayman AlNaggar
I don’t know much about 305, except attendance is extremely mandatory? I also know nothing about the prof. How was she for winter? How is she for summer? I’ve also heard grading has gotten harsh over time, is that true?
I have taken a course with Dr AlNaggar before, so I vaguely know what to expect. But how is that course specifically? Anyone know? How has the prof himself been in recent years?
I could technically do neither and focus on other things, but if I did want a course, these are my options. Let me know anything you can 🙏
UBCO transfer to UBCV
Still waiting for my transfer offer.
Here is my status on ASC. It has remained unchanged since January until now. It is normal?
Completion letter
Mine finally switched from the "upon completion" wording to "has completed" but now the second last line says:
"Subject to the approval of the Senate, this credential will be officially conferred in May 2026."
Is this fine?
Why do I receive similar emails usually the end of the year? Is it legit or some scam? If you ask for anything through the email they provided, they will request a postal code and ask if you can handle the shipping expense..it looks not good.
So right now I’m currently taking a bachelors of science in general studies so that I can go to med school, but I’m struggling to get good enough grades for med school and I’m stressed about everything, like money and stuff. I’m 2 years in and I’m starting to question what I should do now because, honestly, it wasn’t really my idea to become a paediatrician/doctor but my family is just really insistent. I’ve been thinking about changing degrees, but I don’t know if it’s worth it at this point. And if I do switch, I’m not even sure what I’d choose but I just know I want to do something similar to being a paediatrician. Any ideas or advice?
Ubco Nursing admission fall 2026
Hi, i’m a little confused on my classes for first year i applied as a post secondary student and got in i have already taken and completed anatomy and physiology 1 & 2 and english and an elective. Does that mean i’ll only be enrolled in 3 classes first semester?
Just to borrow it for 2-3 hours, we have to pay $75? I find this insane.
Anyone else just finish their undergrad and feel kind of hollow? I had an amazing senior year and It feels like it just ended so abruptly, moving back home was quite humbling…
Cell Service Rec
Im currently on Freedom but I heard that service is bad in the UBC area and in the rest of the city. What services are you guys using?
Grade change on Workday
One of my grades on Workday changed after I reviewed my final, because a lot of points from my final were missing. My professor told me by email on Wednesday that he changed my grade. I was just wondering for anyone who has also had this issue how long it usually takes for the grade to officially update on Workday. I’m worried I’ll be stuck with a grade that I don’t deserve.
So, I'm going to be an RA for the 2026/2027 school year, and I was wondering about social life and other activities. Does being an RA hinder what you do for social activities? Such as hanging with friends, partying/clubbing, participating in clubs, etc.
Graduating in June and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if they enforce the limit of 4 guests per graduate? I have more people that would like to come, and I would hate for them to come and get turned away.
Anyone know for sure?
Hey everyone - quick update on UBC Planner 👋
I just pushed a fix/update and the site is fully working again for Summer 2026 (UBCV + UBCO).
What I’m trying to figure out next:
I’d love to keep improving this, but I want to build stuff that’s actually useful - not just random features.
If you’ve used the site (or even if you haven’t yet), I’d really appreciate hearing:
- What’s something that annoys you about course registration/planning?
- Any features you wish existed?
- Anything confusing or clunky on the site right now?
- Stuff you’ve seen on other planners that you liked?
Even small things help a ton - a lot of the current features came directly from feedback here.
Thanks again 🙏
