Bluish rainbow trout ?

I've caught hundreds or more PA stocked rainbows and never had one with so much blue on its back, what causes this ?

Spoons vs wedding rings?

So I’ve been getting into trout trolling more, I’m still learning as I go. I’ve currently been using wedding rings but was curious if spoons work better or what other options I have?

Recommendations for this creek, fast running water?

Fished as a kid and getting back into it. Pretty much a novice. Went out this morning, don't think I even got a bite but I am mostly practicing at this point and enjoying the time. Any recommendations on lures or baits, areas to fish in a fast running creek? It should be stocked in the next 2 weeks.

What's your go to rig

Last season I really got in to trout fishing, tried a few different approaches, and really learned more patience than anything.

This season I've had tons of success keeping it simple, mouse tail, split shot 1-2 ft above the hook, and just letting it bounce/ drag bottom through currents.

Just looking for other somewhat simple setups to keep from getting bored.

Mainly bank fishing along local creeks in southeastern PA if that's worth anything

Kids derby

Caught 4 kept 3. The main one in the pic was 1lb 11oz. The other 2 were just over a lb. No winners but good eating.

Anyone know the name of these?

Bought these years ago at ACE. Caught some big browns on them and I can't remember the brand. Image searching isn't helping me

What Species quiz.

Sorry for the bad picture but that's part of the hint. Not allowed to handle this fish for any reason other than its safe release. I was not targeting it and it never left the water. Extra points if you guess what region/drainage I was in.

Just like the Wu-Tang Clan- we are for the children.

Kids days and hunting / fishing clubs keep me busy all season.

[Discussion] I don’t see people talking about jigs and tubes enough.

Everyone on this sub or that partake in trout fishing in general usually use about 3-4 baits. These are the spinner, jerkbait, worms, powerbait (and of course your fly fishermen). People really underestimate how effective something as simple as a Berkeley atomic tube is. There are many other jigs that kill it but just a thought.

Tips/Advice for Trout Derby?

My dad signed us up for a trout derby in about a week. I’m not sure what kind of trout will be stocked but I’m assuming it will be rainbows. The pond is small, it looks like 750ftx100ft. I’ve been having successful catching stocker limits this year but I’ve never done an event like this. Does anyone have any experience/advice for fishing trout derby’s? Floating garlic power bait off a Carolina rig has been my biggest producer of rainbows this year, but I’m not sure if it will be the best method in this situation. Any advice is appreciated.
