attempted Aerochrome recreation, now without light leaks

Another attempt at the Joshua Bird aerochrome method, this time on a camera with much better light seals. Shot on Rollei IR with a Pentax K1000. For those unfamiliar with the method:

red channel: Hoya R72 IR
green channel: Tiffen red 25 + Ice UV/IR cut
blue channel: Tiffen green 58 + Tiffen deep yellow 15 + Ice UV/IR cut

it's been a lot of fun! I love the softer quality that the harris shutter effect takes on at longer exposures, and adding a shutter release cable + stopwatch into the mix satisfies my sick desire to interface with a bunch of gadgets and gizmos.

Exposure times can get wild quick though; after factoring in the EV offset from my darkest filter and the reciprocity of the film stock I use, 2 second exposure becomes 30 seconds.

I'm sorry if this is a bit of topic, but i think it may helps the community, mod, please feel free to remove my post if needed

I bought some squared shaped lens filter that especially for trichrome photography.
Unfortunately they are annoying to take with me since I have to carry one box per filter and the original box keep opening inside my bag.

So I made this parametric model to help everyone with the same issue (and a 3D printe) to make some nice boxes for their filters !

You can find the model here

Currently, the available print profiles are the following :

  • 4"x4" Cinema Filters
  • 4"x5,6" Cinema Filters
  • Cokin S (previously A) Serie  - both 67x67 and 67x72mm
  • Cokin M (previously P) Serie  - both 84x84 and 84x100mm
  • Cokin L (previously Z-Pro) Serie  - both 100x100 and 100x150
  • Cokin XL (previously X-Pro) Serie  - both 130x130 and 130x170mm

Please tell me if you need model for specific filters !

these were mostly just tests to see how taking them and editing would work but i really like the potential for capturing movement in these. also still exploring editing as this is also my first time editing photos (gimp).
