Just realised there's only 1 'Norscan' Legendary Lord in Norsca
When is the best time to buy the game?
Does the price of buying all 3 games stay the same, since you can either buy a bundle at 75% off or buy them seprately on sale 75%? From what I'm seeing they disable the bundles for the sales. Is there a cheaper way to buy it?
Rant:
This level of penny-pinching is making me not want to buy the game. They make you buy all 3 games, buy each dlc for 10 year old game, hide basic options behind pay wall and juggle the bundles, because god forbid you actually get a deal buying this game. On top of that the whole dlc system is the most confusing out of any series, specifically made to force players to buy things they don't need.
Nurgle is actually so slept on
I thought i was in for a rough time with this kugath campaign on very hard very hard, but nurgle is actually a lot stronger than i thought. The plagues give massive debuffs to enemies and help a ton, and demonic units such as plaguebarers, beasts of nurgle and soul grinders are hilarious tanky.
Great Unclean Ones are also just bonkers, getting up to 2 bound spells (even 3 for a damage spell). I removed Miao Ying from existance by just casting with them (she was level 38 btw), used blight boils to devestate the rest of their armies and finished the battle by getting back up to nearly full strenght with fleshy abbundance.
The screenshot above is Kugath alone vs 3 full Cathay armies, complete with artillery, Terracota sentinels and Sky junks. Not a single unit lost when the auto resolve was crushing defeat.
I do not have either the champions of Chaos or the Tamurkhan DLCs, so i am doing this with just base game units as well.
There still are massive problems with this campaign, the start is very rough, your economy is terrible and the cycle on your military buildings suck ass. I can definitely understand where people are coming from when they say this might be the hardest campaign in Immortal Empires.
Best or most fun mixed race armies?
Total war vet but new to WH3. I like making lots of allies and building mixed race armies and was wondering what are the best combos? Are there cool lords that are able to buff units from other races or any mechanics like this?
I'm currently playing as Throt the Thot and have allied with greenskins, norsca and chaos/nurgle.
Pro Tip: BAN Slaanesh in your future multiplayer campaigns.
Rot Knights and Skullcrushers, hell the entire roster of Bretonnia WISHES it could compare to these stupid ass snakes.
What is your favorite late game faction to fight AGAINST? and with who?
I am only on my second campaign as Kislev, so I have not really fought undead, dark elves, or tomb kings. And only midgame Skaven.
I love fighting chorfs. Such a well rounded faction with artillery I am actually afraid of, range that can outstrelski my strelski (although the AI never recruits enough blunderbusses. If I were playing chorfs I would have six of them.)
Monsters are cool. Flying monsters too. Casters that focus on damage that are no joke. Raining down fire.
Lots of meaty monsters my war bears can maul.
Daemon engines from hell.
Serious fun.
In contrast, late game Gorbad Ironclaws is a chore to fight with the exception of giant archnids, which are cool. Running after catapults and goblin spiders and deleting goblin archers is boring. Front line folds easy against my tsar guard even with a few Black orcs because Gorbad never has a strong front line of Black Orcs like Grimgor.
Gorbad's Cav is just meh. War Bears maul them or ice guard Glaive. I usually play any battle with a lord but I am just autoresolving the Ironclaw battles.
You?
Winning with less
Not quite the one man doom stack, but its really early into the campaign with little equipment. Potion of healing, talisman of preservation and null plate on dechala. 4 stacks of skaven including Snikch posed little threat, but almost killed my heroes.
DLC power creep am i right? I cant imagine Skulltaker or skarbrand being able to do this. I could see sayl or tamurkhan being able to do this solo though.
The AI lumping all their armies around their capital this early is seriously shit. CA needs to fix their spaghetti code for the AI. VH/VH AI buffs maxed.
Chorf Auto resolve never ceases to amaze me (VH)
to be fair i won this manually too but very impressed auto marked it as a win
Where can I look up what I need to unlock FLC Lords? E.g. what do I need to unlock Thorgrim in Immortal Empires?
Well not just Thorgrim, but Gor Rok, Alberic, Repanse, etc those FLC Lords, what do I need to unlock them in IE, assuming I only have Twwh3 and no other dlc.
Edit: The wiki wasn't helpful in this regard.
Guys, I accidently keep starting the triangle slave trade in Warhammer Fantasy. ITs just that the economic opportunities are to tempting!
Its quite fun. 10/10 would enslave again.
Which unit goes to the front line, and which unit gets to be the reserve? Elite or trash?
Let's say you try to hold a chokepoint. You have some jade warriors and some peasant spearman. Do you let the Jade Warriors handle the charge and tire the enemy, or you sacrifice the peasants so your better units stay fresh and battle ready against a tired foe?
"Never mind trustworthy ally, please forgive me and take all my money"
Devastating Flanker; Which would be best for it?
I'm thinking about making a unit specific for Flanking, I have 2 Traits to choose.
One gives +15 Flat Charge Bonus, the other gives 10% bonus.
If they gain the ability of 'Devastating Flanker' will that double their bonus if it's on Frenzy(so the 10% bonus becomes 20%?)
And would it be best to take the Devastating Flanker with (Frenzy), over the 10% Weapon Strength(Violent)?

Why bother finding the answer at the end of the bottle when I can jus- SUMMON THE ELECTOR COUNTS
So for a while, I've been down in the dumps. Chasing the next high and drinking-to-forget. Kinda hate myself but oh well. Recently however for the past week, I have been locked in playing my warhammer III campaign as Karl Franz and I absolutely love the head canons I'm developing. Im playing with a ton of mods, mainly with a change to Karl Franz's confederation mechanics. Instead of just full annexing the electors, I just vassalise them. Honestly its much harder that way and doesnt give me a benefit, but I love the look of the diverse empire of man with all the canon electors. AAAA And when they join you in battle it feels like I'm playing the warhammer III trailer.
It's also so cool that you get to see them develop to their fullest extent. In order for them to grow, you gotta give them a lot of gold as if you're investing in them, and in turn they give you more dividends on your vassal income. It's so cool to see helmut feuerbach or the elector count of ostland go toe-to-toe with the legions of chaos. They're not half-bad as I thought:
Im telling you, with enough gold and time, Ostermark and Ostland CAN THROW HANDS
Me and the boys about to bring fate, steel and gunpowder against the forces of chaos
Personally, I love the developing head canons with karl franz's army. I'm playing with Nanu's regiment of renown and most of his units have been with me since the start, fighting in battles from Bretonnia against the skaven, to the greenskins of the badlands and the norscan and chaos raiders of kislev. I started naming them for their feats that i never thought they'd be able to pull off.
During the siege of brass keep, there was a failed attempt to gain a foothold within the fortress so I had to send 2 hand gunner units as a sacrifice to hold a doomed rear-guard action so the rest of the army could escape. Despite only being handgunners (With +20 armour thanks to a mod, though it was still miraculous), they held the line for several minutes against Chosen, Chaos Knights and Nurgle Marauders so that a battery of cannons could enter the fortress complex and blast away at them. They didn't get the RoR status effect after the battle but to me, they will forever hold the title as the "The Sternmen", for facilitating the retreat at the cost of their own (They actually survived dw).
\"Fix bayonets!\" The captain ordered, facing the foetid legions of chaos with sword in hand.
Imperial forces conduct an orderly retreat due to mounting losses and dwindling ammunition.
The first siege of brass keep wasn't all too bad actually. Half their forces were absolutely decimated and their walls aren't gonna be repaired any time soon. While preparing for another attack, something interesting came up. Mercenaries, ogre mercenaries.
I've never played ogres before, I dont have the DLC, so I had no idea what their play style was. However, I needed all the help I could get, and there started my favourite head canon between my sole demigryph unit and the ogre maneaters (With pistols).
The plan was to soften them up with artillery and conduct an offensive action by breaking through the beleaguered defenders with my demigryphs and ogres, and then set up a gunline to secure the perimeter. I mean, all this talk about ogres mounting an unstoppable charge had me hooked. Let's see if those rumours are true >:D.
\"They'z all'roight\" Captain of the 1st Gorge Company talking about the statesmen
From now on, the ogres and the statesmen form my elite shock corps, the primary offensive arm when I want a unit destroyed or to break through enemy lines. From the Brass Keep, to the Skaven of Bretonnia, to the demons of Kislev and the wights of Sylvania, the ogres and the knights have fought side by side in the thickest of battles. Hey, supposedly (Totally canon trust), the ogres of the gorge company would only consider the demigryphs as their "second" meal option instead of their first :D.
During the siege of Jakova and the liberation of Kislev, I decided to recruit a unit of hippogryphs.
You'll have all the roasted skaven you can want later.
Yeah, I've been having a lot of fun with unit head canon interactions lol
So far, i've been busy trying to liberate kislev and resurrecting the faction. The faction (The empire as a whole) is being besieged at all sides by greenskins, skaven, norsca and chaos, but its gonna take a lot more if they wanna get past Talabecland now >:D
I... don't know what to caption this
I might relapse but honestly been having a blast and never really thought my attention could be grabbed outside of alcohol. Anyway, Warhammer III is so fun when you have your own head canons and how you look at the campaign.
Ooooo I wanna get a bottle of gi- SUMMON THE ELECTOR COUNTS
THE NATION CALLS
Anyone else spend a lot of time setting up battle formations only to forget to turn off skirmish?
I spent at least 10 minutes setting up my formations with infantry and hangunners as the empire in such a way to keep my handgunners close to get really easy shots. Finally settled and started battle.
Vampires sent dire wolves to my front lines which my infantry caught but all of my handgunners ran out of formation, letting black knights get into was used to be a tight locked formation easily and eat my handgunners alive.
Just a vent from my dumb mistake.
