Eowyn is hospitalized

** update: she’s at home! She’s still weak but a little better! She has to take some medications for a few weeks. The vet told us she’s gonna take some days to be fully recovered. Let’s cross our fingers! Thanks a lot for your support and your kind words! ❤️

Éowyn is 15 years old. On Thursday she started symptomes of upper respiratory infection: she was sneezing, had nasal discharge, and was more tired than usual. I spoke with her usual vet on Saturday morning because she takes cyclosporine and was on a course of corticosteroids (which we stopped after talking to him). On Saturday, she ate very little, and on Sunday, she didn't eat anything, but she did drink some water. At 9:30 p.m., she was lethargic and could barely walk. So we went to the emergency vet, and they diagnosed her with very severe anemia, leukocytosis, and kidney and liver problems. She was admitted at 5:00 a.m. and is still there today. We went to see her; she's better than yesterday, but she might need a blood transfusion. They suspect is a mycoplasm infection, but they have to rule out other diseases. We're very worried, but we know she's in good hands. I adopted her when she was two months old. We've been through many battles together, and we'll get through this one too. Could you send me photos of your senior pets to brighten my day a little? Thanks!! :) Let's take good care of our senior cats!

Happy birthday to sparky!

A lot of pictures but it’s her day so why not! My sparky Marie is turning three today, she’s officially an adult in cat terms. Can’t help but miss her little baby face, she’s growing up way too fast. And happy birthday to her orange brother Theo, but I don’t have pictures of him.

My favorite pictures of Alice to celebrate ten years together

Alice came into my life in 2016 after a former high school classmate of mine announced on Facebook that she needed to rehome her cat. Alice was about a year old and her former owners were divorcing, neither wanted to take her (their loss!) I snapped her right up and she’s been my girl for the last decade now, I couldn’t imagine life without her. Here’s to 10 years!

Happy 5th Birthday to my perfect little girl.

We affectionately call her nasty because she has the biggest attitude to her siblings. She’d prefer we let her live her life in our sunroom away from them, while slowly roasting to death.

She loves lying on the heater vents and baking away, hiding in our drawers to scare us when we can’t find her, and commandeering any empty box we bring in. She is the light of our lives and our first baby. I’m so glad I snatched you from the streets Beanie!!
