Eowyn is hospitalized
** update: she’s at home! She’s still weak but a little better! She has to take some medications for a few weeks. The vet told us she’s gonna take some days to be fully recovered. Let’s cross our fingers! Thanks a lot for your support and your kind words! ❤️
Éowyn is 15 years old. On Thursday she started symptomes of upper respiratory infection: she was sneezing, had nasal discharge, and was more tired than usual. I spoke with her usual vet on Saturday morning because she takes cyclosporine and was on a course of corticosteroids (which we stopped after talking to him). On Saturday, she ate very little, and on Sunday, she didn't eat anything, but she did drink some water. At 9:30 p.m., she was lethargic and could barely walk. So we went to the emergency vet, and they diagnosed her with very severe anemia, leukocytosis, and kidney and liver problems. She was admitted at 5:00 a.m. and is still there today. We went to see her; she's better than yesterday, but she might need a blood transfusion. They suspect is a mycoplasm infection, but they have to rule out other diseases. We're very worried, but we know she's in good hands. I adopted her when she was two months old. We've been through many battles together, and we'll get through this one too. Could you send me photos of your senior pets to brighten my day a little? Thanks!! :) Let's take good care of our senior cats!
