r/ticktick

Trying out TickTick after using Notion for years. Love Notion but got fed up with the mobile app and going down customization rabbit-holes instead of actually working.

I noticed though that the TickTick premium tier has a list limit of 299 lists. Does anyone know if that counts archived lists? I'd like to be able to keep old projects around ~indefinitely for reference.

I went to open a ticket with TickTick and ask but didn't see anywhere to do that. Thanks for any info!

EDIT: Sounds like the answer is no, which is a bummer. TickTick came so close to meeting my use-case! Not looking for alternative software suggestions at this time, but thanks for everyone's input.

So impressed, within 5 minutes I went PRO on my account. What a great app. This is just what I have been searching for. The app connection to MS OUTLOOK and the Desktop App make it even better. Thank you TickTick team.,

Does anyone have any tips and tricks that it would be good to know as a new user please?

Hey guys, if you need to, you can also connect TickTick MCP to Perplexity. You can do this via the Comet browser or via the Perplexity web version. It doesn’t work via the Perplexity app yet. Simply paste the link into the connectors and you’ll be automatically logged in.

You can then do all sorts of interesting things, create tasks, and make plans, whilst having instant access to several of the best AI languages.

I read on ticktick’s website that I should be able to drag a task on calendar view and move it to a different week to reschedule it, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. It seems to also not work on the web either. Has anyone else had this issue or am I just out of my mind?

Edit: solved

Maybe I misunderstood something, but the FAQ on TickTicks Page says "only the owner of the list needs to have a premium account. The list can be shared with up to 29 members, but non-premium members cannot use premium features." I habe Premium, create a list and after inviting the first person, the second and third get an Error-Message saying they need Premium aswell. Is that a bug? Did it work for any of you guys that only 1 Person has Premium?

I last used Ticktick two years ago and quit it because it was having major issues syncing between devices. Has this gotten any better?

Moving from Google keep to ticktick

Hi, I need to move from Google keep just because they have messed up their app by integrating with tasks.. Just doesn't work and lots of problems since the change...

Is there an easy way to move tasks from keep to ticktick?

I also have just notes on keep.. Does tick tick work well with just notes? Or is it just a reminder app?

I require the reminders to be separate notifications on an android mobile as well.. So this is achievable?

Many questions lol..

Thank you..

TickTick MCP behind a paywall while Todoist gives it for free

https://preview.redd.it/f7jn34qlv80h1.png?width=965&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d5fa55e364c146959e67aa34c043f059ed0b9fd

Not trying to be dramatic but Todoist MCP is free. Anyone can use it.

TickTick drops MCP as part of their big AI update and it's Pro only. Most of their userbase just... can't use it.

MCP is supposed to be the thing that makes your app sticky for AI users and developers. Gating it defeats the whole purpose. You're not gonna convince free users to upgrade because of an integration they've never been able to try.

Seems like a weird move. Curious if anyone on Pro actually finds it useful or if it's just a bullet point on the pricing page.

What’s the hardest part of planning your day and building habits?

I’m researching how people plan their day and build habits without getting overwhelmed. What’s the hardest part for you: sticking to the plan, choosing priorities, tracking habits, or recovering after missing a day?

a few years ago, I switched from todoist to TickTick. I havent considered switching back ever until recently. Filters need to get better. Simple filters like seeing all repeating tasks that are overdue are not possible in TickTick. I likely won’t switch right now but if Todoist comes out with another killer feature or when my subscription for TickTick comes up again next April, I may definitely consider it…

I’ve been using TickTick for a while, but I’m struggling with one specific thing regarding my workflow.
When I set a task for a specific time (let’s say 10:00 AM), I get the notification, but if I don’t finish it immediately, it just stays on my "Today" list. When I check my list later, I have to manually look at the timestamps to see which tasks are already past their scheduled time.
Is there any setting or a way to make overdue tasks stand out more? Ideally, I’d love for the time or the task itself to turn red (or any high-contrast color) once the scheduled time has passed, so I can instantly see what's lagging behind.
I'm using the app on iOS and Mac. Any tips or workarounds (maybe smart filters?) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to set ur reminders in TickTick as basically iPhone alarms? Reminders for me don't work unless they absolutely blast me in the face and interrupt me

Hey, is there a way either in TickTick or in Apple Reminders for that matter (I'll take anything) where I can set a reminder to ring my phone like an alarm when it reaches that time? I've tried using reminders but they don't work for me because in order for me to remember, I have to be absolutely interrupted, it needs to ring my phone like its my wakeup alarm

first Sunday of each month

Can't we create a habit that happens on the first Sunday of each month? Frankly, I am shocked that Can't find this capability in TickTick.

Pomo Record Notes

*sorry original post accidentally removed* but I finally figured out how to connect my TickTick to ChatGPT and can FINALLY do something with these record notes!

Ticktick not having the ability to sort by added date is total bs

Not really a question because I know the answer. Just wanted to vent out a little. Ticktick not having the ability to sort tasks by added date is absolute bonkers. I mean the whole point of todo apps is to free your mind from things that are bothering you and if the moment you add them to your app they immediately get lost in the enormous dump that ticktick is - well, that defeats the whole point of this app. This really is a bug and it is ridiculous.

I did it.

I pulled the trigger and got premium. This is just for personal use. I cannot state enough how difficult it is to find a calendar app with all the features I want, and I don't think I'm asking for much. I have tried so many...

What sold me:

  1. Not a USA company
  2. Full month calendar, with ability to check off tasks within it, as well as tag/colour code
  3. Can easily put holidays from different countries on your calendar
  4. Habit tracking. This is a new thing I can't wait to try as I've heard about bullet journaling and I like the concept.
  5. Pricing is the most reasonable so far
  6. Multi-platform, including Linux

Hope I'll have no regrets but I think I'll be happy with it. The only other feature I wish to see is creating project boards with tasks/to-do lists that have no dates assigned to them, so they're separate from the calendar. Then this app would truly be all powerful.
