Duplex coming up for rent
Hey Y’all
I live in a 3bd/2bth duplex on AR side and my landlord is going to begin showing on Tuesday after Memorial Day.
It’s in a really good neighborhood, my landlords are FANTASTIC, and it’s a nice place for a small family.
They charge a security deposit, pet deposit, and all utilities are in your own.
If anyone is looking for a nice place to call home (we’ve called it home for 4 years now) let me know in the comments and when she starts showings I’ll let anyone interested know.
STOP THE DATA CENTERS!
Texarkana is not a cooling vent for AI corporations
Two massive AI data centers are coming to our region, 3,500 acres total, and they're bringing serious problems with them.
Electricity bills could spike 267% in areas with heavy data center activity. The 24/7 low-frequency hum from cooling systems can be heard 2 miles away and causes migraines and sleep problems, among other issues. A single facility could drain 300,000 gallons of water daily, the equivalent of what 100,000 homes use. And despite consuming 3,500 acres, one of the projects only promises 120 permanent jobs. Speculated to be shipped in from other regions, not locally provided jobs.
We already presented 2,433 signatures to Texarkana's city council in May. Now we're fighting to make sure the Arkansas side doesn't get sold without a real conversation with the people who actually live here. We're asking city leaders to demand total transparency on all agreements, protect residents from utility cost hikes, enforce strict 3-mile buffers between data centers and homes, and implement real noise and water protection standards.
If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing. The next meeting is Texarkana, AR Board of Directors on Monday, May 18th at 6:00 PM (City Hall, 216 Walnut St). Does anyone else feel like this is getting out of hand?
Housing recommendations
Hey, I'm a 22m going to move out there for school in the fall. I'm currently looking for housing does anyone reccomend any clean affordable 1 bedroom apartments. Or if anyone is willing to rent out a guesthouse or studio I'd be interested. I have good credit and pay all my bills on time and a clean record. I'm laid back, respectful, and drug free. I don't do much I'll probably just be gyming, playing videogames, and full time school when I'm out there.
Live action roleplay in Texarkana Q&A
I am the Creator and main storyteller for txk Crossroads larp
We've been going for almost a year. I've been going to local events promoting trying to get my face out here more but at this point I'm having a hard time figuring out what's the general public interest is looking for and if there is hesitation on trying LARP how can I address it
Apparently thinking about trying to do a podcast or something of that nature asking the same question to normal people
But I'm curious if y'all had some questions that you can ask somebody who's in this hobby what questions would you ask
