Alcaraz: "I have a long career ahead of me, with many years to go, and forcing myself to play at this Roland Garros could damage my future, so as I said, we’ll see how things go in the tests and then we’ll decide based on that. I'd rather come back later but fit than too soon"

Which matchups that we never got to see do you most wish we could have? For me, it would be Sampras vs. Edberg
Radacanu: has any other player only won one tournament but it was a major?
Emma Radacanu won the US Open at the start of her career. I think it’s the only tournament she has won. And given the injuries and challenges she has faced since it’s possible it will be the only one she does win.
Has anyone else ever had a career where the only tournament they win is a grand slam?
Will we ever see another "double" in a grand slam?
Do you think there will ever be another player to win both singles and doubles in a grand slam?
Yevgeny Kafelnikov was the last one to do it in the 1996 French open.
I don't think the "triple crown" (singles, doubles, mixed) will ever be possible in a single grand slam again but I think the "double" might still be doable or is it just too physically difficult in the current era?

reddit.comIs Iga Swiatek in Martina Hingis’ position that she found herself in the late 90s?
It feels like their careers are really mirroring each other: I.e
- the WTA tour was in “flux” in between two major eras a “big oxygen sucking star era” before a big power based games era (Steffi and Seles for Hingis and Serena before Swiatek) and they capitalized on this and established dominance over the rest of the field breaking records everywhere.
- they both begin to struggle upon the appearance of hard hitting tennis players who played big power based games (the Williams sisters, Davenport, Capriati for Hingis) and (Sabalenka, Rybakina, Anisimova for Swiatek).
- neither are particularly big hitters themselves, more like great athletic movers and find themselves getting over powered.
Alcaraz on making it to RG: "We'll have to wait and see. The next test will be crucial, so we're doing everything we can to make sure it goes well. After the test, we'll see how the injury is and what steps to take next."

Which is the first tennis match you ever watched, and how old were you?
Wimbledon 1998 men's final for me. I was 9.

espn.comOver the last year, Ben Shelton has both a higher win rate against 11+ ranked players (76.9% to 75.0%) and a lower win rate against top 10 players (25.0% vs. 33.3%) than Alex De Minaur. Is his "high ceiling/low floor" reputation entirely just due to the aesthetics of his playstyle?
There seems to be both this anticipation for every time he plays a big matchup (for example vs. Sinner) and this expectation that he's a random player who can lose to anyone
But in both a positive and negative way neither of these things are really backed up by stats
