It feels like their careers are really mirroring each other: I.e

- the WTA tour was in “flux” in between two major eras a “big oxygen sucking star era” before a big power based games era (Steffi and Seles for Hingis and Serena before Swiatek) and they capitalized on this and established dominance over the rest of the field breaking records everywhere.

- they both begin to struggle upon the appearance of hard hitting tennis players who played big power based games (the Williams sisters, Davenport, Capriati for Hingis) and (Sabalenka, Rybakina, Anisimova for Swiatek).

- neither are particularly big hitters themselves, more like great athletic movers and find themselves getting over powered.
