Suffolk woodland walk
A woodland walk in an area owned by my village and managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
Hi everyone!
I am currently working on my family’s ancestry tree and was able to find some details about my 11th Great Grandfather - the last man of my lineage to die in the UK before his son set sail to America.
John Austen Waterbury - Death was approximately September 1596 and I have found a record that says he was buried at St Peter’s Church in Sudbury Suffolk England. Same place that his son William Waterbury was born before he died heading to America with his own son, (also named John Waterbury), in 1630 that became the first Waterbury in America.
Is there anybody who lives in that area that would be willing to help me out? I just want a picture of his grave stone if there is one or a picture of the area that bodies were confirmed to be buried at the church if no headstones exist.
Also… and I know this is a very long shot… but if you live in the area there and are somehow connected to or still have the Surname of Waterbury - I would really love to connect with you!
Thank you for any help that you can provide! If anyone has any information or ways to get more details on my ancestor’s from there, please let me know. I am very invested! Thanks.
Suffolk new food waste a d recycling.
Does anyone know the time table for the new east collection coming in June? We already fill the recycle bin in the two weeks so having a second one will help, unless they change it to 4 weeks.
Where to find sea glass in Suffolk
Hi folks
I want to find about 25 pieces of sea glass to put into a jar to mark a life event. I'd like to find them myself rather than buy them.
I wondered if there's a beach you could recommend which might be a good place for me to search.
Thanks so much!
Hello, this is my first time posting on this account so I'm not sure if its alright to ask here, but me and my family have recently been looking for a kitty to adopt, preferably young (around 3-6 months) and I thought it would be a good idea to post. We do have experience in looking after cats specifically too.
We are located in Lowestoft but are willing to travel around Suffolk/Norfolk so if anyone has some kittens they cant keep, or knows someone, then please do let me know, it'd be greatly appreciated! x
Edit: thank you to everyone who helped, it was so appreciated and we have found a kitty, thank you!
I did a number of paintings of this area, this is another in acrylics but on plywood
Nerdy tattoo artist?
I have that age called old, so I've decided to say fuck it and get a tattoo. I have no idea how to go about it, though. Are there any tattoo artists in the East Anglia region that specialize in geeky tattoos that yall would recommend? Ideally someone familiar with Discworld. Currently in Bury St Ed but willing to travel.
alt hair stylists near ipswich

We recently got our parents' old cine films digitized, and we found this wedding. We don't know anyone in the video (apart from our mum), so I think it would be nice if we could find out whose wedding it was so we can send them (or their children) the video. The church is St Mary's Badwell Ash, and the wedding was probably in the late 1970s (or early 1980s)
Bury St Edmunds, the modern market town with medieval ruins and a striking Spoons
inews.co.ukI've recently got into home-brewing mead as a hobby which has been really fun, but the biggest cost to it is the amount of honey required as each batch often uses about 1.5 kg honey. This can get quite expensive buying from supermarkets, but also they often have preservatives in that can affect fermentation, and the cheapest stuff isn't as nice (it's surprising how much of an effect the quality of honey has on the final mead flavour).
Within the mead community, a lot of people advise just reaching out to beekeepers as you can often buy larger amounts for cheaper, it's a lot more fresh and lovely, and also obviously helps local beekeeping communities.
So does anyone know of any local beekeepers I can reach out to to buy directly from?
