Did anyone else have pain from placing a CGM on the inner tricep area?

Hey everyone,
It’s been a while since I last used a CGM, but I recently decided to wear one again.

Because I was busy (and honestly because it was hard to reach properly with one hand), I ended up placing it more toward the inner side of my left tricep instead of the usual center/back or slightly outer tricep area.

The attached photo was actually taken by my daughter after I started wondering if I may have placed it in a bad spot.

What’s strange is that insertion itself was completely painless — pretty much the same as every other time I’ve used a CGM. No bleeding, no sharp pain, nothing unusual during application.

But after I started moving my arm around, I noticed a weird discomfort whenever I lifted or rotated my arm. At first it just felt like mild soreness or muscle tightness, so I tried to ignore it. Over time though, it gradually became more painful and uncomfortable to the point where raising my arm felt annoying enough that I finally removed the sensor and threw it away, even though it felt wasteful.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this from placing a CGM too far toward the inner tricep area. Is there maybe more nerve sensitivity there or something?

Again, the weird part is that the insertion itself did not hurt at all. The pain only started afterward with movement, almost like a deep muscle soreness or pressure sensation.

Did I probably place it incorrectly?
Also, where do you personally find the most comfortable spot with the least pain/discomfort for movement, sleeping, and daily activities?

Would appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.

Reverted prediabetes

I was finally able to revert my 6.1 a1c to a 5.4 late last year and my new a1c this month was 5.3. So I am glad I was able to use Stelo for this. I haven't been impressed with the customer support or their devices lately though. Nonetheless, Stelo played a huge role on this reversal.

My only complaint now is that I have like 8 Stelos and I cannot return them.

Other than the support issues, Stelo was great.

Hi! I'm om my 3rd week of wearing stelo. I've had this happen 3 times now where my trends are like a mountain range when I sleep. Does anyone know what may be happening here? I'm prediabetic and my doctor doesn't believe it's reversible because I'm overweight so I'm figuring all of this out on my own. (Meanwhile I workout 7 timed a week and keep getting told it's not enough, even the ice hockey). Thank you

This is my 8th month using Stelo. It has helped me get my A1C down well below a pre diabetic level and it has become part of my program for eating and staying fit. I have tested it by comparing it to a blood test monitor.
It has functioned accurately up until now. My last 2 sensors have consistently measured 20 points higher than the blood monitor. I ended the last monitor early and put on a new one yesterday afternoon to see the difference…it is still 20 points higher. I’m thinking of canceling my subscription with Stelo if this keeps happening.
This thing has become a great resource for me…any advice would be helpful.

Readings always low

I’m not sure exactly what is going on. Every time I wear a Stelo it is running consistently much lower than finger sticks. I know there is a lag between the measurement seen in the app, and the actual measurement in the glucose meter. And the graph that I see in the app does not correlate well to what I am measuring. Amy ideas? TIA

My experience with Stelo has been hit and miss--I can use one and it's great, then the next one is off by 30 points (up or down) or stops after 5 days (yes, Dexcom replaces defective ones). It was frustrating enough so that I've been paying out of pocket for the G7. I recently tried a Stelo I had in the drawer and it worked great for the full period.

Has quality control improved or is it still sometimes they're great, sometimes they're no? I'd prefer not to pay twice as much for the G7 and I don't need the features the G7 offers (in fact, some I would rather not have--like the alarms that go off in the middle of the night because I am sleeping on my side and it thinks my glucose is at 50). On the upside, the G7 has been very reliable.

Fitbit can now pull glucose data from stelo and it shows below 70 (very useful for us ketogenic folks) and unlimited history and completely configurable range, etc. first shot is with minimum range set to 75 and second (my normal setting) is with minimum set to 65.
