You can’t be serious
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened my email this morning, but also can kinda believe it bc this is coming from a company that won’t let you buy a cup of water unless you order something else. (I’m an ex shift)

Just saw some banana syrup in our warehouse, anyone heard if this will be replacing the banana powder?
I've seen a lot of these posts before, but it's finally my turn. Tonight was my last shift after nearly 8 years! I owe a lot to my partners and work-family that have supported me throughout this journey.
- 1,455 shifts worked
- 1,455 BOH f-bombs
- 390 clean plays
- 22 baristas and 5 shifts trained
- 19 crash-outs
- 12 shirts no longer in dress code
- 7 oven burns
- 3 store transfers
- 2 worn out coffee master aprons
- 0 regrets
It's been a helluva ride, ya'll. See you on the other side.
Genuine question! So one day I labeled and set out three timers, one hand wash, one sani, and one for small wares. I believed this was pretty standard for starbucks and thought it was required. One day I came in and saw all the timers removed besides the small wares, and someone told me that they did a store walk ( the dm I think) and said we didn’t need them. But I thought we did because I’ve seen in every store have at least 3 timers, one for small ware, one for hand wash and one for sani. And I thought we needed a hand wash for ecosure too, I could be completely wrong. I am just more curious than anything!
I STAY calling and complaining to corporate about the chai. They’re so fucking stupid for even considering changing the recipe. Then again, they’re just stupid! Seriously though, I need the original chai back 🥺 Anyone have any updates on its potential return?
They're opening a new stand-alone Starbucks literally across the street from my current store (we can see them putting furniture in the new place) My store, which is very old and very small, has gotten no word on if they're transferring us all over, closing our store, or keeping it open 😁
I’ve always been real against doing this because I feel like if the shot I pull isn’t any good, now I’m wasting syrups. Also, I feel bad about prolonging the length of my time hot liquid sits in plastic cups because microplastics. So I’ve always dispensed my shots into the glass and, if they pulled correctly, then they go in the cup. Today I had a shift tell me that the correct way to do things is to dispense directly into the cup because it makes the shot mix with the syrups different and results in a better tasting beverage. I don’t think that’s true, which is why I’m asking here. Does anyone know for sure what company policy is as well as what actually results in the best tasting beverage?
js a post of my current latte art and flat white dots
I don’t hate making a caramel crunch frap! It is when I am being timed to make these drinks even though they have so many steps and I am supposed to be conversing with the customers too. It becomes so discouraging because even if you make this drink in under 30 seconds I am being yelled at because it looks bad. It is an impossible cycle so making a drink with extra steps begin to scare me!
So no I don’t hate making a caramel crunch, they are fun with the layers and drizzle. But I hate being held to impossible standards.
Can't remember the last shift I worked that wasn't understaffed. Everything keeps breaking, including AC, the store gets so hot. Back-to-back 12-drink mobile orders. No fewer than 3 travelers ordered daily during peak. Regulars who come in 3+ times a day for the dumbest drinks you've ever seen. Weekly events next to the store filling us up w/ foot traffic. Do y'all all really need like 10 modifications per drink?
Another coworker and I had a scary thought today. Three tiered syrup stands to fit all the syrups. I’ll put nothing past sbux corporate 😔
Ok so I’ve never posted but I low key need to ask. I’m fairly new and I work at a smaller Starbucks inside a grocery store. I work almost only closing shifts, which at our store (idk about other ones) means only one person working. in turn even if my shift is over six hours I never get a break or a lunch because no one else is there to work, and I can’t just close it…can I? Im really not sure and I’m fairly certain it’s not legal lol 😭. Should I bring this up? Leave for a lunch and just have no one in the Starbucks? Please lmk
Has anyone else noticed the new strawberry acai separating, with all the concentrate settling at the bottom and watery liquid on top? We’ve been making and preparing it the right way 😭 what are we doing wrong or how can we fix it? 😭
Is it fine for me to take pictures of the store’s resources, such as recipe cards, for my personal use?
note: i'm graduating in a MONTH.
this is nyc with very specific scheduling laws, where i was required to work the same schedule every week. i often had unpredictable school commitments (incredibly demanding major) that would require me to give up or swap shifts. i always found coverage and never called out except when ill, i have only had three call outs the entire time this guy has been manager. i have three five and a half hour shifts a week, and giving up/swapping any one of them at any time triggered the minimum thingy to get fucked up. and ig i gave up/swapped too many times and got put on a final for irregular scheduling.
other than that im a great partner always early/on time and do the jobs that no one else wants to do constantly and im a model example with customer connection. it just seems so unfair that im the guy crawling around on the floor to vaccuum the corners under the cabinets and i'm being told that i'm fucking everything up for my manager by literally just being committed to my education and damn near getting fired for something i have no control over if i want to get anywhere in this world.
anyways i graduate in a month-ish and my availability's gonna change and my current manager can't accommodate it but i also can't transfer because of the final... am i fucked? can i like, put in my notice and reapply at a different store? i know the DM isn't gonna take my side...so i'd go to another district. im a lifelong new yorker and can add fifteen minutes to my commute, i don't care. but i'm already fully trained, already good at this job. benefits were nice. seems a waste, really.
am i fucked? should is tart looking for a new job entirely?
for some absolutely unknown reason to me, i can only order this in person. i KNOW it’s in the pos because ive rung it in and had my coworkers ring it for me, its no longer an ask me! so WHY can’t i add it to a drink in the mobile app? i’m genuinely so confused why it doesnt show up! why would it be in the pos if customers can’t order it in the app???
