He's eating some protein and then begs for another bite!
We found what looks like a baby slug beginning to dry up in our entry way after some recent storms. We put it in a terrarium (daughter has been really wanting a pet slug and we figured it was about to dry up so it wouldn’t hurt to keep it and take care of it.)
We are in the East Bay hills near Tilden in the SF Bay Area. Any idea what kind of slug this is? For size reference, it is pictured with an arugula leaf it seems to have grown since we found it about a week ago, so I am thinking it’s a baby. That said, I was wondering if it could possibly be a mature form of a smaller species? I know very little about slugs but we are doing our best to take care of it by keeping its habitat moist with distilled water and giving it greens to eat. Thanks in advance!
Spotted this little slug on a super rainy hike in PA. He was making his way slowly across a road.
They are such sweet babies...I started with one and she reproduced herself 4 times before she passed away. .I had her for about 5 years...
Found eggs while planting a garden, didn't have the heart to crush the eggs so here's some pics of my hoarde as they've grown (I found around 30 eggs in total) 🖤
Any tips on how I can take care of her? Is it okay if I leave her in my hands? (She apparently liked my hand, hehe)
I picked up some bark to use on a terrarium and when I was checking on my set up in discovered this baby slug!! I already keep garden snails so I'm happy to add it to me my care (in their own set up).
And yes I know using un treated yard debris runs the risk of bringing things in, I'm okay with that, I'll work with it.
got a diy slug enclosure (just the australian field slugs you find under rocks in your backyard), wondering what is best to add to there, gemini said chia seeds were good, but i dont know if i should trust it.
Hi guys. I don't really know much about slugs, but I found this guy just completely still while walking my dog. It's nighttime here and usually they are perked up and moving.
I see this type of slug around all the time, and I know the colouration can vary. But the slime and colouration looks off to me other than the top part
I was wondering if someone poured something on it? Did a bit of research and I coated it with a small amount of water using a damp paper towel just in case. It moved a bit since I did that but it's still not "perked up" and active
Is there something wrong with it? And if so, anything else I could do?
Doing some cleaning up in the garden yesterday with the summer approaching. Lifted up some plastic where I was storing some wood and saw these guys. I'm hoping these white things are just droppings but honestly I have no idea. I actually just moved the piece of wood down the end of the garden so they could move on.
Hi! Me n my roommate found this slug. We wanted to keep him, but we were curious, how long does he live? And what type of slug is it? Also how would we care for it properly? If it helps were in Louisiana
