From my mother.

After I lost my mom I went to the beach near her cottage and was shelling alone with nobody else on that beach. Talking to my mom and crying in between, I found this on top of a bigger rock. I couldn't believe my eyes and I knew she left it there for me. She was with me for sure. I left most but did take the abalone with whatever shells were on it. I miss my mom. Western Cape, South Africa.

Identification Please - Deerfield Beach FL

I’m sure it’s some sort of conch but we are very new to shell collection so I have no idea what kind. My 5 year old son found this beauty a week ago and I was so jealous! I was also a bit disappointed l, though fascinated, when I turned it over and saw two tiny eyes staring back at me. We did not add this to our collection of course but returned the little guy back to the water.

I have others I will post soon for identification and confirmation including what I believe is a juvenile king conch!

Thanks in advance for any answers you all can give!

Found in Costa Rica

Hi! I found this shell in Playa Avellanas, Costa Rica. I figure it is a type of cowrie, but do you know what kind?

Oyster drill? Possibly false oyster drill?

A shell I collected as a child so I sadly do not know exactly where I picked it up. It could have been CONUS, Bahamas, Panama, or the Middle East.

syringe for scale. I believe it is an oyster drill, but I’m not certain which species. Any ideas?

(apologies for lack of provenance, I was a beachcomber long before I became a proper documenter of my finds)

Found these two smalls on Florida west coast. Any ideas?

Card for scale. Swipe for detailed pictures. First one appears to be some sort of cowry, second one no idea

Worn down shell

Can anyone help me figure out what kind of shell this is? The back looks and feels exactly like a rock, sand buildup over the years maybe?
