Confused about why people say Lux is religious

I loved the album!!

I had the expectation that the album was going to be religious or at least spiritual since that's what a lot of people seem to be getting from it.

I could be talking all day about it, there are so many references and cultural details. The whole thing is cheeky and teasing all over, but also beautiful and very wholesome.

So,

I'm Spanish and I'm really confused by how people perceive this album as intensely religious. Sure, there is religious imagery like the rosary (used in a nonreligious way), but I just listened to the whole album with lyrics and to me it sounds like the opposite of religious.

Just a few examples:

  1. One of the verses that is repeated several times in sexo, violencia y llantas says:

Primero amaré al mundo, y luego amaré a dios.

I will love the world first, and I will love god later.

This is the opposite of what the bible says (loving god above all), and puts the focus on the world, god comes later (if at all).

  1. Another song is called "God is a stalker", and the lyrics go in the direction you would expect from the title, the verses are actually quite cheeky, they were really fun to listen to.

  2. Another one (de madrugá) says:

The cross on my chest

Calibrates my body

To satisfy myself (the word "desquitarse" means to get satisfaction by fulfilling some compensation, seeking revenge, getting even; the word sounds like selfishly relieving a tension in Spanish)

I am entitled to it (have the right to)

The verses are saying: I can selfishly seek satisfaction, I have the right, the cross on my chest balances things out.

This sounds exactly like the kind of thought process that a specific type of Catholic person has, but it also tells the story of a woman who seeking revenge killed 5000 men. It describes very human passions, not religious purity or spirituality.

  1. Also, the album photo has her trapped within white religious clothing, her arms crossed under the fabric of the dress unable to move.

Overall, the album is full of references, little comments and a fun cheeky vibe all over, very teasing, which I loved!

The sound at Uber Arena Berlín show

I need to know if other people felt this way. The sound was just ATROCIOUS. The base was so loud I felt like I was under attack. And since I had seen Rosalia at the Amsterdam Ziggo Dome, I had something to compare it to. Amsterdam was perfect. I’m so glad Berlin wasn’t the only show because I would have been so disappointed. I can’t say it ruined the show for me because it’s Rosalia but WOW it seriously brought it down. And also, there was a light that shone directly into the eyes of the audience where I was sitting in the middle. It was blinding and we couldn’t see things properly sometimes because of it.

Did anyone else have this experience?

Anyone know where you can still buy VIP Golden Circle tickets for the London show?

I have seen some a couple of days ago on AXS but now they’re gone. 😭

What Lux means to you

Hi all,

I am currently writing an article about Lux and how much it has impacted me. I was curious to see how it impacted others’ lives and (with your permission) I would incorporate that into the piece as well.

Does she usually perform the remixed version of Berghain on tour?

I'm curious, was really surprised in a good way to see that happen in Cologne.
I know she did this at the award show with Björk as well which I already found so playful and funny (again, in a good way?), so I'm wondering: is it a set part of the show already or is it something special for, like, Germany? I highly expect the remixed version tonight in Berlin as well.

Mind blown, jaw gone, ascended to heaven, speechless

I was fortunate enough to attend the Cologne concert of Rosalia yesterday. I went in without much (if any) knowledge, had no expectations but an open mind to see what would happen.

I was not prepared. We were not prepared. What an artist! Truly, what a mind blowing evening.

She has turned me into a fan by the ending of the first song. I will spend the next couple of days in a rabbit hole of Rosalia-information now.

Does anyone know whether there will be something like a tour dvd released? I would like to marvel at the wonder of what I saw again.

Wow.

GOLD VIP Question

If I have VIP GOLD gold circle packages, is it true we're guaranteed front barrier access? Do we not have to queue early at the venue like I typically would to be at the front of my VIP section? How early have people been showing up to queue.

The way Rosalía switches styles so quickly makes every song unpredictable

I’ve been listening to Rosalía and one thing I keep noticing is how fast her music can change direction within the same track.

A song might start very minimal and soft, then suddenly shift into something much louder or more experimental without feeling random. It keeps you guessing what’s coming next, which makes repeated listening more interesting each time.

It doesn’t feel like she sticks to one formula, and that unpredictability is what makes her sound stand out compared to a lot of other artists.

Best tickets to buy (London O2)?

Hi, I have never been to a concert before and really want to see her in London. I have no idea what the best tickets to buy would be in terms of good view and not too pricey - I’d be happy to spend up to £200ish.

VIP 4 GC RIGHT Or VIP GC 5 LEFT looks good - is it a bit more comfortable as it’s VIP? I don’t want to be in a section that’s too crowded ideally.

Can anyone who has been to the O2 in London before for a concert advise? Thanks in advance for any help.

My Experience at the Lux Show in Cologne

I’m still shaking from finally seeing the artist of my life after being a fan of 7 years. I cried so much (Rosalía cried too I noticed) the audience was amazing and her artistry was so mesmerizing to watch in person. Her voice is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. She said a few thing things in German which was awesome. Her fan interactions were also hilarious, she took her time to read every fan sign out loud and thank them.

You don’t realize how well thought out this whole show from start to finish is just from videos alone. Before the show Camarón de la isla x classical music were playing. The interludes from the orchestra had the whole arena screaming. (All female orchestra btw) The conductor Yudania was one of the highlights for me, seeing her energy esp. during Cuuteeee.

I think just the show aspect alone will turn every casual listeners into a Rosalía STAN 10/10 concert
