I just bought my Ray Ban Meta Gen 2 with grey transition lenses. They were smudged with oil and fingerprints out of the box. So as I usually do for all my electronics, I sprayed a bit of 99.9% isopropyl alcohol all over the glasses and wiped them off immediately with a tissue. It cleaned the glass, but for some weird reason, it has left a lot of stains all over the frame as can be seen in the pictures. This is the first time something like this has ever happened with the isopropyl alcohol.

Can someone please explain why this would happen and how I can clean off these ugly looking stains from the frames? Isopropyl alcohol surely isn’t doing the trick :((

Hi guys, what’s your opinion on this? They seem to be authentic to me, but I really cannot tell. I’m gonna check about in person if the guy will let me but the arms when I look online they don’t look the same like the writing. I don’t know I’m confused.

Paid about $30 for these raybans at the thrift was this a good price?

Very aware they are fake. Purchased in Turkey for like 1600 lira (35ish usd) because I didn’t bring a pair of sunglasses with me. My girlfriend picked em out and said they looked good on me after trying on a few pairs, they are polarized and blah blah blah. I’m just curious what they are? The model number RB4701 that is shoddily printed on the inside frame doesn’t come back to anything besides a generic black plastic frame. I like the look of these and just want a genuine pair for the UV protection but I can’t find them anywhere online. Closest I find is the Ferrari collab but there not the same and I don’t want a Ferrari logo.

Ok, just nabbed these today. Couldn’t pass em up for $100, even though they need refurbishing and new lenses. Seller thought they were 50s (siad he bought em off an old blues man in 1975, and they were well loved then), and at first I was dubious. That is until I saw the nose pads - clear acetate instead of the solid black acetate like every other pair I’ve ever owned, including the late 70s/ early 80s pair also pictured here for comparison.

What says the hive mind?

For my curiosity, does anyone know what model of rayban is the one in the picture? surely it is a model of the 50s/60s (the film in question, a perfect world, is set in those years).

I bought these from SmartBuyGlasses for £83 rather than the steeper price on the website £300 and all the trustpilot reviews said they’re real and is a very trusting website. Now that I have received them could someone help me.

These are from my late FIL. He had 3?different pair so he could have mixed the cases up. That said, would anyone help me to date these and also tell me if they would be AmberMatic or Outdoorsman? They do not have the curved stems which I believe is indicative of the outdoorsman.
I have searched Google and cannot seem to locate any of that fit these to a tee. Maybe they were pieced together? Or I’m thinking he had these custom made or sent in for repair/ replacement since they both say made in USA and Italy.
B&L 62 [] 14 is on the bottom and then B&L Ray Bans USA on the top on frames where they sit on nose. Then on stems it says RAM1552AA 135 A4905 on the right side and Made in Italy CE on the left side. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
