Developer m-cid has released an Open Source solution for Overclocking the PSP’s CPU. Which is now integrated into ARK-5.

Notes:

• While the plugin allows up to 555MHz, it is more than probable that these frequencies are unachievable by any PSP, the highest I’ve seen is my Go at 483. For safety, ARK-5 will not allow you to reach beyond that frequency.
• There was a previous developer claiming to have achieved overclock on the PSP up to 366MHz and videos showcasing it. While this plugin may have been real, it was never made open source and the code for this new overclock plugin is completely different and written from scratch, as well as battle tested by various users and many different PSPs.
• You can find the original source code of the plugin and stress tester here: https://github.com/mcidclan/psp-555mhz-plugin.
• You can find a beta pre-release of ARK-5 if you dig around, it’s not that hard.

Hi, my PSP runs on ARK-4. I installed it and it worked correctly for months, but earlier this day, I deleted the BOsD plugin by mistake, and now nothing works.

I couldn’t find the plugin anywhere, it doesn’t seem to be a real plugin. So I found the solution : reinstall ARK_01234 in SAVEDATA, it worked, I could launch GTA LCS but, the game couldn’t read the MS, and I cannot launch any game again. I tried to reinstall the original firmware with the browser but I have that message that tells that I need to reset something, and then it just turns off. Every time I try to launch something (custom launcher, game, browser, update menu) my PSP turns off…

And while I was looking for something in the settings, I made another mistake : I enabled Autoboot Custom Launcher, see the problem ? It turns off when I try to launch the Custom Launcher…

Now, when I try to turn it on, the green indicator lights up, the screen turns black, and it turns off.

I don’t know what I did wrong… if someone had a similar issue or just knows how to help, thank you

I want to revive my childhood PSP. The thing I want to prioritize is Retro Acheivements support.

I'm new-ish to modding, but is there anything like Retroarch that I can run on the PSP? I have Knulli on my GameBoy handheld and it does everything I would want on the PSP.

I've seen the indi project that aims to put Acheivements on the native PSP OS, but would prefer a custom firmware that is more complete and able to play RA in hardcore.

Hello i recently revived my PSP 3001 series, and am interested in hacking/jailbreaking/homebrewing it but not really sure where to start hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Hii! I’m trying to get an old PSP 1003 (PSP 1000) working again and update it to a newer firmware, but I’ve run into a problem. The system is currently on 5.50 prome-4, so it looks like it already has custom firmware installed (likely from years ago) to me it seems like the current CFW is spoofing the firmware version (says it on 9.90 and up to date) or blocking updates, but I’m not sure how to safely remove/replace it.

what i’ve tried to do:

• tried web archive for official 6.61

• tried the pspunk version of the update

• tried formatting flash1 in recovery menu

• tried resetting settings

• tried to skip straight to downloading ARK

I’m not knowledgeable on PSPs at all, any help is appreciated !!

A month ago i decided to revive my old psp that i had as a kid, from 08. It’s not going well. I know for a fact the UMD tray is broken(the psp wouldn’t recognize it when it’s turned on and when the disk is inserted before turning it on i get the waves loading screen and never boots up), so i decided to mod it. The issue is though, it’s stuck in update version 3.95, and i can’t get it to update even to 4.00. (all the file paths are right, the files are renamed to eboot) i’ve tried multiple sd cards, different memory stick adapters, and the same issue. The PSP will read the update file, I’ll go to click on it, and then i get the White Screen PSP logo and the sound effect and then thats it. It’ll stay on that screen until i take the battery out. (battery is on 100% and plugged in). I’m not sure what i’m doing wrong, i’ve watched hours of videos on youtube to try and figure it out but i’m stuck at the moment. (SD card is formatted in FAT32)

the one on the top right corner, the little black stick thing snapped off (likely from age lol) and now doesnt know when the door is closed causing it to not read. i want to keep using the drive and read my many many childhood games, so i just want a plugin i can enable just so the drive thinks its closed all the time. thanks!

edit: i soldered a solder blob from the top left contact to the bottom contact and it worked!

Edit: Okay, I'll try to explain this but Im sure it cannot be done safely. I would love to have a built in magnetic charger for the psp, similar to the magnetic charging ports they use for Surface Pros.

it seems this is a known issue with the game, I wanted to document this fix as I went some lengths to find it in a random thread that didn’t show up in my initial searches.

On game "Saya no uta" the game will crash and stop running. ( Happens when after the what saya and fumiori do to yoh"

HOW TO FIX:

1: go in game files and select the "o.txt" file

2: go down until u find the line u were at before the game crashes

3: now delete the line that it doest show up, for me it was (csp 0- print 1- dwave 1 ,"voice\28\013800.ogg"-name"fumiori"-"says--just what are u?")

4: close

5: run game

you can use file zilla on your computer with vita shell Via FTP & move the file there to text edit then move it back to replace it. anyone reading whos dreading this. listen, if you got this far to play this game on an old ass console like this. you can do it, took me 5 mins. & yes that exact line listed there will be the one YOU need to delete likely.

Every time I finished playing Rock band unplugged on my psp go and when I go to my system storage is just say "No games are installed"

Is there a fix?
