My mantis’s abdomen is stuck to the ootheca, does she have a chance of survival ?

My sibylla pretiosa which I have had for six month has laid an infertile ootheca as per usual, but her abdomen seems to be stuck on the ootheca. The problem is that when an ootheca is all dried up, it is quite solid and I am afraid that pulling her out would result in a deadly injury.
What should I do ?

Is my mantis ok?

Hi, had Mrs Miyagi (a rescue as she’s lost a front leg) since February, today she has some sort of a head injury, is she dying? I know her days are numbered. I’m so worried about my girl I love her a lot.

So, I recently caught a female mantis nymph from my mother's garden (She doesn't have wings yet and is very small). I found her because I had put a male mantis on my mother's plant that morning, and when I went to check in the afternoon, she was eating him. I let her eat him and then took her to care for her. I made a makeshift terrarium for her and plan to buy one tomorrow (I only received my paycheck today). And while she was in it these past few days, this appeared. Is this an ootheca?

She's very friendly with me and seems to like me, she lifts her paws to climb onto my hands and onto me, and she also really enjoys being on my arm and shoulder. Sometimes it's even a sacrifice to get her back into the makeshift terrarium.

I'm Brazilian, so sorry for the terrible English and also sorry for the bad photos, my camera won't focus

Giant Rainforest Mantis? Was I sent the wrong species?

I just ordered a hierodula majuscula and he’s about I2-3. He arrived brown even though all nymphs of this species I’ve seen are green. I’m worried I got the wrong mantis. Can anyone confirm his species? And will he eventually turn green?
(last picture is one i found online of a timor shield nymph that looks exactly like him)

I found an Indian Bark Mantis(probably) on last Thursday. I kept it in a temporary shelter made by putting two medicine bottle caps on top of one another with a paper for the floor, and a piece of stick inside. I am feeding it household casebearer larvae since it is the most common insect here. For some reason it does not drink water when I hold a drop in front of its mouth or catch the larvae when I place it in front of it. So I had to hold it lightly and then when I put the larvae in front of its mouth, it ate it. It sometimes grooms its forelegs, so since I don't have anything to mist water, sometimes I put a drop of water in its head which it then licks while grooming. It molted succesfully today. I gave it some water in the method I mentioned. Can anyone help me about where to keep it, other tips, how to make it hunt and drink water, how to calm it, etc.?

Can I use this container for my Indian Bark Mantis? I will poke breathing-holes in the the sides and the lid or cover the top of the container with a mesh-cloth, line the floor with a paper, keep sticks and the other things which the mantis can use to hang from, etc. I will try my best to make the enclosure a good one for my mantis? But is this closure ok? Are there any other advise, suggestions or tips I have to know about? I am new to raising mantises.

Continuing from my last post, I now only have 1 mantid (I gave 1 to a local reptile/insect pet store and am giving another away to a very nice man) but I am wondering if my enclosure is ok for my baby mantoid Vivian. I added mesh to the top of the cage and a hydro ball layer under the soil for drainage as well as charcoal and springtails.
I make sure the soil stays moist and spray the whole terrarium down with spring water 2x a day.
This is only temporary until she gets too big for the tank then I will be upgrading to a 10x10x15 for her.
And comments or advice? Should I add isopods or is the tank too small for them?

Hi! I’m at an expo that ends in an hour, I bought two mantises and im hoping for a female and male pair.

These are L4 Chinese mantids (2 pictures each)

I believe the Brown one is a male and the green a female but I want to make sure so I can switch them if not.

Thank you!

This is my first mantis so im afraid of over/under feeding it

Also i didnt think of this before i got it but my enclsosure its in opens from the top so now im a bit nervous opening it would ruin its molting progress >.< !

I’m new to caring for a praying mantis and he has molted 3 time before but I’ve never caught him doing do. However he’s been like this for hours and I’m wondering if this is just the molting process or something is wrong? He is still alive.
