Pomona vs Yale

Now time has come for the painful decision of Pomona vs Yale. (The most first world problem of all problems I know)

I am a non traditional student, interested in going to law school after undergrad and eventually getting involved in Politics. I am from the midwest so neither are close to home, so that factor doesn’t really matter, and both are giving me similar aid. I have already visited Pomona and loved it, but I cant help but wonder about life at Yale.

Hoping to get some insight from current or past students, also anyone that has been in a similar boat. Most people I am talking to look at me like I’m crazy for not immediately choosing Yale, but I also think most people in the Midwest don’t really quite understand what Pomona is.

Anything is helpful, and thank you in advance!

Edit: Thank you everyone for all of the comments and extensive veiw points. Even though I have not been able to respond to nearly everyone, I have read every single comment. Taking into account this, and talking to friends and family, as well as some internal reflection, I am going to pick Yale. As much as I love Pomona, a full ride at Yale is something I cannot let myself pass up. Thanks again to everyone, it is a testament to how wonderful the Pomona community is that so many were willing to help a random person make what feels like the most important decision of their life.

I am a domestic out-of-state transfer admit to Pomona--which is extremely exciting and wonderful! however, despite literally living below the federal (and state) poverty line with a $0 SAI, I am still expected to fork up several thousands of dollars per year to cover tuition costs.

For added context, this was a denied financial aid appeal... When I visited Pomona they bragged about their hefty endowment, but I may have to turn this college down.

Edit: If you have any advice/words of wisdom, I'm all ears.

Romance Languages & Literature major

Hi! I'm an incoming sophomore transfer student, and I'm looking into majoring in Romance Languages & Literature. I speak native Spanish and A2 French, so I'm inquiring about the latter. I read that, for the major, four French courses must be taken if you start at the elementary level, so I'm wondering if anyone who began elementary like I will could tell me about how the major is going/overall experience and whatnot :) Thanks sm in advance!
