So i pulled a Mega Gengar ex #284 and want to grade it for my collection, but i want it to be future proof in case i decide to sell one day in the future. It has a small scratch on the back so i think it will get a psa 9. Is that still worth grading? it COUld get a 8 but since the small scratch is the only trhing i notice wrong with it, i think itll be a 9.

I just picked these two slabs up in a trade.

It would cost me 38 + 15% tax (cad) per card to submit cards for grading in group submissions (at least to PSA I haven't submitted anything to anywhere else yet, and I don't have enough cards to do bulk submissions myself and shipping from Canada is pricey).

For the Deoxys VSTAR, it's valued at 54 cad currently for the CGC Pristine 10 (collectr). A PSA 10 is 94 cad, and from my understanding, PSA 10s are less strict than CGC Pristine 10s. Also, a Beckett Pristine 10 is 124 cad, and a black label is 540 cad. Basically, the CGC Pristine 10 is worth way less for some reason. What are the likelihood it gets any of those grades? It's probably not worth it for the PSA 10 after grading fees, but how about Beckett? I'm not sure how to check if it got 10s in all categories or 1 9.5 since the cert lookup isn't showing me. A Beckett Pristine 10 would still over double the slab's value.

For the Ninetales, two things:

1. How do I know if it's the "Black Flames Error" version?

2. From my understanding, CGC 8s from the time where they still used those blue labels are way stricter than CGC 8s now (correct me if I'm wrong). The CGC 8 on collectr is worth 72 cad, not sure if it's worth any more with the blue label or if it's about the same. There isn't much data on any other company that isn't PSA on Collectr for this one, but a PSA 9 would be 152 cad. It's probably not a 10, I see visible wear on the corners, but I know PSA are way more lenient on old cards, worth submitting to PSA to try and get a 9? If I get an 8 it's 87 cad, so after grading fees I'm losing there. I have heard stories about old CGC slabs almost always getting a grade bump after resubmission though.

Anyway, what would you guys recommend for these? Could also provide close up pictures of each if you guys wanna assess them that way.

The Ninetales I'm looking to sell either way if that changes anything, the Deoxys depends on what value I could get out of it, but I really like that card so if I can't get a big value bump on it by re-grading I'd probably keep it as is for PC. Slabs also aren't in the greatest shape themselves ngl kinda scratched up, cards inside are fine though.
