How is Thievul not a maned wolf???

I still can't accept that Thievul is meant to be a red fox. I mean, WHY??? It has literally ALL the characteristics of a maned wolf (the red fur with black details, the size, the body shape etc.)

Mascagna, the grass magician.

I made a diorama using only a Yakult cup and a 100-yen shop.

I used nail powder to change the texture of the Mascany and focused on the groin area

Regirock is done, completing the Regi trio miniature MOC set!

I can't believe I actually did it! Regirock is my favorite of the three, and it was definitely the most fun of the three to build (Regice was easily the most challenging build) because Lego made pieces that fit his design perfectly! The shoulder boulders, the geode spikes on his back, his clobbering rock fists, and all the tile pieces that make his body look jagged and uneven were a joy to put together!

At just a quarter plate over five bricks tall, Regirock is the tallest of the three (with Regice just under it, and Registeel a full brick shorter), but still small enough to barely stand over a minifigure. Their bodies were built with similar 3x3 dimensions (not counting the arms and other parts that stick out) so they're compact enough to all be used in the same hidden chamber space and be used as "following Pokemon" (like in HGSS and S/V). Regirock was built in BrickLink Studio using legal building techniques and no custom pieces, so anyone can do it!

As a bonus for you guys, I made a little scene of Brendan encountering the Regi trio with his starters and losing horribly (he needs to train them more!) to the overwhelming power of the ancient golems!

Over 75% of Graded Jumbo Shadow Lugia cards could be fakes

Is anyone here an original owner of a Jumbo Shadow Lugia card? It's pretty horrible for the community when they can range from $100 to $10,000 based on condition and yet there's almost no trusted source for authentication.

I've gathered information on about 24% of the PSA population of Jumbo Shadow Lugias, and 76% of the ones in my research are suspiciously impossible to find evidence of authenticity for.

My running thread where I make my weekly findings / updates public is here: https://www.elitefourum.com/t/most-difficult-card-to-authenticate-the-mysterious-case-of-jumbo-shadow-lugia/61171/23

One snippet from my thread concerns the fact that all PSA-graded copies fall into 1 of 3 exact variants:

We only have proof that one variant is real (Variant #1 below) - but all PSA graded copies fall into 1 of 3 exact variants. There are 74 graded certs by PSA and ~23.0% of the entire population I was able to find and populate below (17 in total):

1. Variant 1: Contains 2 TMs on the backside, has the white speck above ‘developed’ in the copyright region, has a drop shadow on the ‘BASIC’ text, but the ‘BASIC’ text itself is medium-bolded. Examples include certs 71294671, 71294672, 71294673 (yes all 3 of these were sold by the same eBay seller and when I reached out to comment they said they were the original owner and got them at Nintendo World in 2005), and 89689485 (4 certs, or 23.5% of public certs).

2. Variant 2: similar to Variant 1 it has 2 TMs on the back and a drop shadow on the ‘BASIC’ text, but different from Variant 1 it is missing the white speck above ‘developed’ and the ‘BASIC’ text is heavy-bolded rather than medium bolded. Examples include certs 76676770, 88897780, 97883219, 115881251, 119558248, and 126913332 (7 certs, or 41.2% of public certs). The last eBay account sellers of 88897780 and 119558248 got back to me claiming they are the original owners but they could not say from where they got the card so I’d still put this into question until further clarity is given.

3. Variant 3: is the most different. It has the white speck above ‘developed’ but it is missing the upside down TM on the back, has no drop shadow on ‘BASIC’, and ‘BASIC’ is not bolded. Certs include 66214051, 99854269, 101846776, 126231571, 135235558, and 141711389 (6 certs, or 35.3% of public certs).

The issue is that 100% of people who I speak with and are original owners of the card who actually got them in 2005-2009 at official Pokemon events all have Variant 1. There are other reddit posts discussing worse fakes (e.g. blurry text or discoloring) but my research is solely focused on visually crisp cards on seemingly accurate jumbo card stock with consistent patterns, sizes, and colors to actual cards that PSA has marked as real. I have found online forums and photos accusing fakes of this card that date as far back as 2007 so meeting someone who isn't an original owner but obtained Variants 2 or 3 on the playground back in the day isn't necessarily compelling enough to prove authenticity. If you want more nuance to why there's no consensus you can read the full blog thread I linked.

Why doesn't Pokemon reveal random future gen Pokemon first instead of the starters first anymore?

With this, I refer to how Buizel, Bonsly, Mime Jr, Chatot, Munchlax, Lucario, Mantyke, Weavile, Electivire and Manaphy debuted during Gen 3 before Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup were introduced.

It's cool to see which Pokemon could be of the next gen, but now we just have the starters first, and not some others.

The last time this happened was during the release of Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, which introduced Magearna (a Gen 7 Pokemon) before Ash's journey through Kalos ended

Why is seviper always portrayed in this goofy pose?

I didn't really care about this Pokemon until I saw it posing like an actual snake and not like a Caterpillar with a viper's head.

Its such a sick design lmao now I want an evolution for it.

Do they ever explain why is it always cosplaying as a spring instead of locking in and showing off how cool It actually is?

Oldest Pokémon you have?

Howdy everyone! With the 30th anniversary in motion I thought it would be nice to do some reminiscing! I was curious to what yalls oldest Pokémon in your possession was. It can be from any game as long as you still access to them! For me the oldest one I have is my Sceptile from Pokémon Sapphire WAAAAAAYYYY back in 2003 when I was 4 years old. I believe I named myself Joe all caps because I was a ginormous Blues Clues fan. It’s funny to think this Sceptile is older than a lot of my family members I even think he’s a month older than my little sister. Sceptile and I have been to every region including Orre! I actually wish Pokémon would introduce a special ribbon for Pokémon that set foot in every region that particular species is able to go to. Anyways enough of my rambling I’d love for you guys to share your journey and team members!

Gale of Darkness on the Switch 2 GC app convinced me to get this. Loving it.

The only other games I touched before this were Pokken Tournament and Unite and I loved those for showcasing Pokémon attacks in real time like the anime. I've been waiting for a Pokémon RPG that plays like that and I'm happy it's finally happened as someone who really loves the Xenoblade Chronicles games.

At first, it looked too expensive (70 bucks is just too much) so I decided to wait for a sale. in the meantime I played Gale of Darkness when it was added to the Switch 2 and the doubles battles are very fun and strategic. It convinced me to try another Pokémon RPG. Then I managed to find ZA for 45 bucks a Target and got it as a gift. the battle system, movement, and Pokémon attacks feel like they're straight from the anime. Loving it so far and the humor is great.

I also chose Tepig as my starter. She's great.

Pokemon has been 3D for years, why are we still having the exact same camera angle for idling?

it is ok to pay homage to the GB battle scene, but it is time to let it go already.

Stadium, Colosseum, XD, BR all have dynamic camera angles, showcasing the battleground, zooming into pokemon, trainers, showing the scene from afar etc.

When items or abilities activate, the camera will usually focus on the affected Pokémon as well.

It is so dull to see that fixed camera angle for choosing moves, seeing small moves being unleashed, item and abilities etc.

PLA did away with it because of the free camera nature and SV allows free camera switching (but with poor camera work, due to the need to accommodate all sorts of terrain), but since Champions is back in a set plane for battling (and with nice move and camera animations animations), it is weird to see all that modernized graphics but, still, the same fixed camera for idling.

I know there are characters they deserve and earn their redemptions, but they are also some that don't.

Gamefreak will make the most EVIL characters, that do ACTUALLY HORRIBLE THINGS... such as:

abuse and manipulation their children (Ghetsis and Lusamine)

control the media to cover up stealing from society (Lysandre)

manipulate the general public into believing they are good people (All three of them, but mostly Ghetsis and Lusamine.)

using the life force of corpses of dead pokemon for their plans (Lysandre)

torturing pokemon (Ghetsis)

Freezing Pokemon (Ghetsis and Lusamine)

Have extreme prejudice towards a certain group of people, that already down on their luck. (Lysandre)

Attempt to mass destruction over their region/world (All three of them)

Hire some other people that are totally ok with this (All three of them)

And generally just be completely unlikeable because, they are villains...

and then TURN AROUND and be like, "What if we made them good people actually?" with a straight face and people are just like, "Wait this writing is peak actually"

and I get called the crazy one for thinking that, it's bad writing actually for thinking otherwise.

I hope Ghetsis gets treated like the scum of the earth he is, since HE IS JUST A PATHETIC OLD MAN wanting to conquer the world!
