Hi!!! I’m preparing to release my debut single as an independent artist and I’d love advice from people who’ve done this before xd
I was originally in talks with a management/label situation, but I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me since they didn’t give me any creative freedom- like at all (lowkey a bit culty too lol), so I decided to step back and go the indie route instead. Now I’m trying to make sure I do things properly on my own.
What are the most important things I should know before releasing a first single independently? Like:
• distribution platforms
• royalties / rights / ownership stuff
• prerelease promo timelines
• pitching to playlists
• PRO registration (if needed before release?)
• anything you wish you knew before your first release
I want to do this the right way from the start🥲

Hi everyone, I just want to share my recent experience with OB Guitars (Pampanga) as a caution for others while still hoping for a positive outcome.
During the day na nag-inquire ako, very responsive naman sila sa Facebook. I was able to finalize the order agad and paid ₱8,500 without hesitation since they mentioned na it would take about a week to finish the ukulele before shipping. They also said they would message me prior to shipment.
After a week, since wala akong na-receive na update, I reached out to ask about the status of the ukulele. Medyo delayed na ang replies nila at that point but they told me na possible ma-ship within a day or two. I then politely requested a few things: a receipt of my payment, a short video of how the ukulele sounds, and also asked na huwag ilagay ang receipt inside the parcel since it’s meant to be a gift. They saw my messages but unfortunately, wala akong nareceive na response after that.
A couple more days passed without updates. Honestly, nakaka-disappoint na yung communication at that point. What made it more confusing is that I trusted them because I’ve had good experiences before: my first ukulele was bought from their physical shop in Pampanga and the second one was also an OB ukulele purchased from a private seller. Both had really great quality and sound.
Before contacting OB, I was actually considering Cebu-made ukuleles (like Ferangeli and Val.ukes) but I couldn’t reach them at the time, I assumed baka affected sila ng recent storms/flooding. So I went back to OB thinking it was a safe and reliable choice.
After sending multiple follow-ups, the only response I got was: “na-ship out na kahapon.” Wala man lang prior notice, no receipt, no proof of shipment, and no sound sample video as requested. That was honestly very disappointing.
As of now, I still don’t have confirmation or tracking details, so hindi ko pa masigurado kung on the way na ba talaga yung item or not. Nakaka-worry lang din since it’s supposed to be a gift baka mamaya naghihintay sa wala yung pagbibigyan kong special someone.
To be fair, I’m not immediately concluding that this is a scam. I’m still giving them a few more days to see if the ukulele arrives and if the quality meets expectations. I’m just sharing this experience as a reminder to everyone to be extra careful with online transactions especially when payment is involved.
Siguro naging kampante lang ako because they were “tried and tested” for me before, and this was their official Facebook page. But still, lesson learned. Always ask for proper documentation and updates saka importanteng magbasa ng reviews!!
Hopefully this serves as a helpful heads-up for anyone planning to order from them. Sana maayos pa rin ang outcome nito. 🙏

bumili ako ng kirlin electric guitar cable at nag last half a year lang
I bought this guitar months ago and it had these strap locks which are different from the usual. Note that the guitar also have a brass bridge and brass nut so I’m assuming this is also brass.
From what I have looked up so far, these look like ones with the locking mechanism where you could attach locks on the straps itself. Can anyone verify? and if my guess is right, where can I buy the locks only itself without the buttons to put on the guitar.

My busget is 11-12k, and with that, I'm stuck between Jcraft T3-v, RJ Gigline Telecaster, and if those are not good, a Tagima Tg 540
