Visit in June

Going to Panama City Beach with bestie, mom and aunties.(All 21 and over) Looking for recommendations for things to do, and places to eat.

I am very outdoorsy, so anything physically active is going to be style. Exploring, kayaking, swimming, surfing, etc.

Live music is my mom's favorite.

I'd also like recommendations that are very accessible to do with my Aunt. (Anything with no stairs and minimal walking is best, please and thank you SO much)

We already have accommodations, so I do not need any housing recs.

Tia!!!

Any recommendations on what to do with a 9 month old?

Hello All!

We are visiting from Canada with our baby and finding it HOT 🥵

Would love some recommendations on things to do with our baby. Maybe some indoor activities as we’re not used to this heat yet? Any tips and tricks for surviving the beach with baby are greatly appreciated too.

Thank you 😊

Landscaping

Hi all! I have opened up a landscaping company named Coastal Roots (very small) and was curious if anyone needed small jobs done for the spring/summer. We do small irrigation repairs, flower/shrub installs, pinestraw/mulch, pressure washing, pet waste removal, and more! Don’t hesitate to ask or reach out. TIA!

Looking for medical/transportation services

Hi there, I’m out of state and am looking for medical transportation that hopefully takes Medicaid for my mother. If they don’t take insurance, I am still interested. Thank you, in advance.

Looking to make some friends

Hello everyone! I am 30 and have been living here for about a year or so and finally have everything settled and the way I want it so now time to make some friends! I am a pretty laid back person that likes MTG and boardgames. Huge fan of movies and TV shows more movies though. Been getting around to some of the local places but they seem to be pretty reserved and don't want to seem pushy so I figured I'd try out here. Hoping to find some people around my age and interests hopefully.

If anybody has any other recommendations I'd love to hear those as well, hoping to hear from some of y'all.

Anyone interested in starting a fencing club?

We used to have one, but that was years before the hurricane. I don’t know enough to teach beyond the bare basics, but I’d be curious about whether there’s interest.

St. Joe Resorts

Anybody here work for them? How is it? Got a pretty good job offer to cook for them. Is their housing decent? Any input is welcome!

Local butcher and seafood market recommendations!

Hey y’all! I’m pretty new to the area but living here now, does anyone know of local shops/markets to get fresh meats? At hopefully not outrageous prices? Steaks, hamburger, etc.

Also looking for suggestions on the best local seafood markets. Someone told me about a pretty good one in Destin but I was hoping to find one closer.

Thanks in advance!!

Old video store on Back Beach Road

Local here. Does anybody remember or have knowledge about the video rental store on back beach road that used to be near the old Winn Dixie? It was right across from where I lived on Dolphin Dr as a kid, loved that place. Couldn’t remember if it was a mom and pop or a chain like a Hollywood Video or something. If somebody has pictures or proof or even just a name or memories I’m trying to relive that nostalgia and jog my memory of what it was like. Thanks.

Weight loss program

I'm 230lbs, 6'0 at 17 and I can't put down the cola.

I also like to eat chicken tenders, hot fries, cheeseburgers, subway, taco bell chalupa etc. It's all so good and I just can't help it. Sounds like a joke but it's really not. I really rely on cola and drink it heavily every day.

I was never always obese and most of it went to my thighs. I've been at 230 for months saying "I'll lose it eventually" because I actually have.

I was 180 last year in early 2025 so I already had a goal and it just got worse. My previous highest ever was 203.

Are there any weight loss programs or places I can get medicine from? I can't force myself as easily as I thought I could without going crazy.
