Best first steps for starting a club in NW FL from nothing?
I find myself at the point in my life where I’d love to get back into HEMA, but I’m faced with a rather glaring issue: the nearest club is 2+ hours away(NW FL)…so I’m debating just starting one myself. I was active in the sport for years in my childhood (10+years ago) but unfortunately all of my gear was lost in a storm, so if I were to start this it’d genuinely be from square 1. I have a public space that we could meet at and practice, and I have a fair bit of experience starting and managing the backend side of non-profits/public business entities, but within the realm of club sports I’m pretty much in the dark. I’d love to be able to provide rental gear to people as well, and am planning on contacting nearby instructors to see if we could form a partnership with them to cover travel and “rent them” once a month or so. Anybody have any advice on better facilitating this/best course-of-action? Thanks!
