Did you have an airing cupboard? Keeping all your towels warm?
Learning to read in the 80s with this crazy bunch.

A time when not everything was about money and lifestyle
I mean, yes, people dreamed of having certain things but they weren't hankering after a lifestyle.
Dallas, Dynasty and Miami Vice were about pure escapism, people weren't watching it and believing that they should have it.
I think it probably began to change in the late 80's with the rise of the 'YUPPIES'. This was the point when the media started to really promote consumerism.
In more recent years, social media started sandwich (or bridge) our real lives and those of the wealthy.
That is the thing I miss most of all about the 80's. The humbleness, the ordinariness, I suppose. I dislike modern-day entitlement a lot.
We were not well of as a family growing up but one of my closest friends was. She lived in a huge house with her mum and dad. No-one actually gave it a thought or aspired to it.
Is it just me?
A trip to the Corner shop was interesting as a kid 😄
Vimto milkshake was marvellous
Came across an old 1982 vimto ad on my YouTube feed. Vimto is going to get you in the end. Or just Vim will?
Used to love it, especially in a milkshake.
What weird milkshakes did you make? Tried a Ribena Shake?
Caveat: But I can't stand it these days after the sugar tax and all the artificial sweeteners.
