Hi all - Im looking to build or buy a retro arcade machine - 2 player, with the games preloaded etc. I see there is some "DIY kits" from Aussie that seems reasonable, but what advice is out there to get started and on a budget? Any suggestions welcomed!

I personally thought it was okay, it wasn’t this magnum opus that reviewers are saying it is and it’s not this big pile of dog shit that the haters are making it seem.
The gameplay is very minimal like skateboarding and walking around and you can beat some parts without even touching the controller.
The graphics and art style were beautiful though and the whole vibe was nice and it was a relaxing game to play but the characters aren’t that interesting and the main villain is just a protective dad.

Hi all I'm a 37 year old dad looking for other chill guys to play with.
I play mostly survival crafters I'm currently working my way through valheim but also enjoy games like green hell and sons of the forest I also play co op RPGs and games like peak and RV there yet in short bursts.
I'm after other mellow people who enjoy slower pacing and chill communication that don't take it personally if someone messes up..misogynistic or racist people need not apply .

Switch 2 is getting worldwide price increases due to the RAM and computing parts shortage affecting the entire tech industry. But what stands out is NZ is getting a $170 bump while Australia cops $70 and most of the rest of the world around $50.
I can not understand how this is possibly justified compared to Australia. I'm half convinced it must be a typo.
If anyone's on the fence about the Switch 2, get one before September, I genuinely can't speak highly enough about the console itself. But better yet, get it from Australia. Buying anything gaming related in NZ is a lost cause, the ps5 slim now sits at an insane $1100.
Hi there! I’m a 24 year old girl, I live in Auckland. I have multiple health conditions which have dogpiled on me and I’m effectively disabled. I’m looking for friends I can play with who are similar in age, and maybe experience similar limitations.
TBH I’m quite isolated, and my health fluctuates and sometimes I can’t play for ages. Gaming and the internet is the way I connect with others and I’m unashamed to be chronically online.
I have a cracking sense of humour, and it’s really important to me to pursue things that make me happy. If I’m on a brutal losing streak I do my best to take it in stride and figure out how I can improve instead of raging.
The multi-player games I currently play are Overwatch and Helldivers 2. I dabble in Baldurs Gate 3, Marvel Rivals, Smite 2, Elden Ring, Elder Scrolls Online, Infinity Nikki, Avatar: frontiers of Pandora, Borderland series, and GTA5. I’m only on PS5, and willing to get other games. I’ll probably suck at first, but I improve quickly.

EB games AU online opening for NZ May 5th at 2pm.
Im wondering though, would more New Zealanders (especially those who didnt really go into EB stores when they were in NZ) start buying online?
I'm not sure what the online sales looked like when EB was in NZ, but I did a quick Google and seems more people would rather buy sometime from overseas even if the same item is avaliable where they live.
Could EB see an influx of NZ customers?
EB left a power vacuum for gaming stores in NZ places like JB, The Warehouse and others sell games but are not game centered. There are online gaming stores in NZ like Appleby Games in CHCH thats been making moves (not sure if there is a physical store)

Now that EB games has closed down here where would you go to get physical PS5 games? Even online unless they’re super new, popular or recent they seem to be harder and harder to get. Might be a daft question but recently got a PS5 and not long made the move to NZ so just wondering what you recommend as Sonys digital prices are quite high.

I am awaiting on the arrival of my new pc (9060xt 16gb 7500f) I know it’s capable of 1440p but I’m going to get a 1080p monitor with atleast 144mhz and under $250. Any recommendations? There are a few for sale like the Kogan brand and AOC but some reviews are negative about those.

My Hyperx Cloud II Wireless headset recently completely broke (one side has snapped off after being held together with tape for a while).
Looking for any recommendations for a wireless headset primarily for PC that is also compatible with Xbox. Preferably with strong construction, a detachable and adjustable microphone and long battery life (or a long USB cable included to charge it). Within the $150-$300 range. Basically a like-for-like replacement in terms of functionality.
I have looked at the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless but am a bit hesitant to continue with the brand due to my experience with the Cloud II falling apart.

I’ve been feeling nostalgic for the Xbox 360 era and wanted to see if anyone here would be keen to try recreating that old-school multiplayer experience on PC.
I’ve been messing around with the Xenia (Xbox 360) emulator and looking into Netplay (using something like Hamachi) to simulate LAN multiplayer. The goal is to get a group together and bring back some of the classics No live service, no battle passes, no microtransactions, just straight-up multiplayer like it used to be.
I am talking:
Fair warning, this is a bit experimental. It’s not as simple as installing and playing. There will be some setup, troubleshooting, and figuring out which games/configs actually work well. But if we can get it going, being NZ-based should mean we can get really solid, low-ping connections compared to the old days. (Anyone remember with GOW back in the day we had to search specifically 9 rounds, 9 something else... just to find other Kiwi players?)

Hey guys, I bought some ps3 games off trademe and the guy assured me that it was all in working condition but when I tried to play the games they wouldn’t read, the scratches to the disc don’t allow them to work so I was wondering if there’s any tips or tricks or suggestions to fix that?
