Speculations?

Hi,
I currently have a MacBook neo, which runs basic games and a bunch of things through crossover, but I really need a console. I’ve been looking at a second hand series x for about $500 nzd, but I’m not sure if I should wait for the steam machine. I have a decent steam library and a decent Xbox library, but since I live in New Zealand it’s doubtful the machine will come here for some time, especially in my budget (5-600nzd)
Any advice would be great!

Heya! Im extremely new to bazzite/linux/pc building or anything like that. I’m looking at buying a hp pro book g4 with a Ryzen 5 2400 with Radeon Vega 11 and 16gb ram. I really want a console but with my steam library on it so I figured I’d try this. My main question is has anyone else done this same build? And if so how did it go? And what kind of performance would you get in games like hollow knight all the way to forza? I’m not expecting incredibly good performance or anything but just looking for a general idea

Or should I look for something intel?
