Are old school craft beer bars dead?

I feel like there were a lot more “true” craft beer bars in North Jersey… places like the Coppermine or the Twisted Elm years ago. But seems like those are few and far between these days. A lot more places seem to be cocktail-focused with limited beer selections. Do you think the old school craft beer bars will ever make a return? Or has the whole industry shifted?

Twin Elephant, Rosecourt Release Collab

From FB:

🥀🥀🥀🥀 SUB ROSA🥀🥀🥀🥀

.

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout | 13% | Toffee, Pecans and Uganda & Mexico Planifolia Vanilla Beans

.

Available at opening today for bottles to-go 2 per person and for pours onsite.

.

We are so stoked on how this project came out. A blending collaboration with our friends and soon to be neighbors @therosecourtbrewery. They are gearing up to open any day now so keep your eyes peeled and go check em out. The base is a blend of a 9 Year Four Roses barrel and a Barton 1972 barrel finished with an ungodly amount of pecans and both Uganda and Mexico Planifolia vanilla beans and just a kiss of toffee. Rich and decadent, with balance and depth while also somehow oddly drinkable 😜.

Join the Brewers Guild of New Jersey & over 30 breweries throughout the state for the inaugural NJ Pint Day on Thursday June 4th, 2026!

What is NJ Pint Day?
NJ Pint Day will take place on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at more than 30 participating breweries across the state! Craft beer enthusiasts are invited to purchase a limited-edition collectible pint glass available exclusively at the participating brewery taprooms listed below. In partnership with BGNJ member breweries and Boelter Beverage, $1 from every glass will be donated to the Brewers Guild of New Jersey.

Cultivate the Garden State
The theme for our inaugural glass, Cultivate the Garden State, is dedicated to the elements that bring us back to our Jersey roots. Lead proudly by our state bird, The American Goldfinch carrying a hop leaf, because at the core of beer is where we call home. This year’s glass was designed by NJ native & designer Tom Schmitt.

Where can you get your own glass? Breweries throughout the state will each have the opportunity to order glasses to celebrate the occasion. Each glass supports the Brewers Guild of New Jersey, a non-profit organization that’s purpose is to promote and protect all breweries across the state. $1 from each glass will benefit the work we do every day to to keep advocating for our breweries through legislative action and marketing support.

2026 NJ Pint Day Glass:
In honor of the special day a limited edition Cultivate the Garden State glass will be available at participating breweries while supply lasts. $1 from each glass benefits the Brewers Guild of New Jersey. Erratic Fermentations Visit

Was in Bradley for brunch this morning, and, unsolicited, my family, who has been trained, for better or worse, to know we go to BBP when we're in the area, asked to go. I explained that BBP was no longer there, but another brewery had taken over so we picked up some pastries from Del Ponte's and headed over.

First, if you've been to BBP, you immediately recognize the space, but they've totally made it their own. Beautiful. Very rustic. Less of a beach vibe, but I can see it being really, really enjoyable in a beach winter. Really loved the vibe.

Had Some Cerveza with Limes from the Lukr which was a delightful Mexican lager that I hope they have on when it gets warmer. Spazzmatic Fermenaunshine was a crushable, but flavorful session. Fluffy Clouds and Wasps Nest were solid IPAs. Looking for Pancakes was fantastic and loaded with coffee flavor sweetened by the maple.

We'll miss our stops at Bradley Brew on the way home from trips to the beach, but super excited to start new traditions at Erratic Fermentations. Definitely go out of your way to check it out.

Hey everyone,

The Brewers Guild of New Jersey here. We wanted to share with you what we've been working on for the last six or so months. Welcome to The Beer Garden State.

This rebrand means a lot to us, and we want to make sure we finally engage with the people who have supported craft beer in our state the way we should have been all along.

This year, we put together a Women's Brew Day where over 70 women in the industry, as well as some of our legislators at Tall Oaks Farm + Brew. We brewed a Valencia Orange Honey Lager, Among The Wildflowers, that will be released next month. Portions from the beer will be directly donated to the BGNJ.

We have NJ Pint Day on Thursday June 4th, where over 30 breweries throughout the state will have our limited edition glassware designed by Tom Schmitt, Twin Elephant's label designer.

These are just some of the ways we're trying to engage consumers, and we really are just getting started. We're calling this a bit of a "renaissance" for craft beer in our state, and we're looking at hosting more thoughtful beer festivals, an app in the works, and applying for grants to make sure we do everything the right way. Through the many iterations of the NJBA/BGNJ, we didn't have the bandwidth to support breweries across the state as best as we could when it came to promotion of our members to craft beer drinkers themselves.

While this is just the front-facing things we're getting done, we are even more committed to progressing the industry through lobbying. Some feats are easier than others, but our small team is dedicated to supporting this industry in a time where it feels like everything is working against them.

As a non-profit, every dollar we make gets put into our advocacy, marketing, and education for our industry. Its been a long time coming, but we hope that we can rebuild this community by engaging more with the people that keep us all going, and thats all of you.

If you'd like to support, we have merch available here.

Last thing, thank you for keeping the conversation about beer in our state alive. I've been a part of this industry for eight years, and I love not only the beer in it, but the community. We're listening, and we're excited to show you what we can do.

-Executive Director, Brie Devlin

Got cartons 077xx ipa at my local restaurant. Got to say this is what an ipa should be. The best Jersey ipa are made in two brewery’s carton and kane. The edge goes to carton tho.

If you weren't at the Brewer's Derby this weekend, we made a huge announcement of our new Head Brewer, Spencer Longhurst!

Spencer comes to us with 15-ish years of industry experience, brewing abroad before a lengthy stretch at Barrique in Nashville, then a recent stint at Xul in TN as well. We are beyond stoked to add him to the team.

Checked out a new brewery to me heavy reel brewery in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Gotta say I was Sterling impressed. All the beers are really good. The staff was friendly as well. If you’re down the shore, add it to your list of breweries to check out.

I kinda love this one, very light. Tastes like green grapes/white wine but in beer form. 6.2% ABV so you can definitely have a couple and not feel like a fat bastard.
