I’ve been using a 77mm Nisha double exposure lens filter capturing these in camera on the Canon R5. It’s hard to get right but when things line up it’s exciting for me to see the results when I like them, just how I imagined it’d look when I got the initial idea.

Millions Impacted as Multiple US Healthcare Organizations Report Data Breaches

Recent healthcare data breaches have affected millions of individuals, exposing sensitive personal and medical information.

Key Points:

  • New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation breach affects 1.8 million individuals.
  • Erie Family Health Centers in Chicago reports 570,000 impacted due to hackers accessing their network.
  • Florida Physician Specialists breach impacts 276,000 individuals in a two-day attack.
  • Coastal Carolina Health Care and Western Orthopaedics breaches each affect approximately 110,000 people.
  • Breach at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital shows conflicting data, reporting up to 2.5 million affected.

Recent disclosures have highlighted significant breaches across several healthcare organizations in the United States, with millions of individuals' personal and medical information at risk. The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation reported the largest incident, confirming unauthorized access from November 2025 to February 2026, impacting 1.8 million individuals. The breach involved sensitive data, including personal health and financial information, a serious concern given the potential for identity theft and fraud.

Similarly, the Erie Family Health Centers breach indicates that 570,000 individuals were affected due to a cyber attack that took place between December 2025 and January 2026. Information compromised in this case ranged from names and Social Security numbers to medical details. Other notable incidents include breaches at Florida Physician Specialists and Coastal Carolina Health Care, suggesting a pattern of vulnerabilities within the healthcare sector.

While various organizations have reported breaches affecting hundreds of thousands, caution should be taken as reported figures might change, evidenced by discrepancies such as the 2.5 million individuals initially indicated to be affected at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. The lack of claims from known cybercrime groups adds to the confusion of attributing these breaches, maintaining a high level of concern regarding cybersecurity in healthcare.

What measures do you think healthcare organizations should implement to better protect patient data?

Masked protesters carry Hamas flags at NYC Manhattan protest Friday

>Several masked demonstrators carried Hamas flags at an anti-Israel protest in Manhattan on Friday, while a Hezbollah flag waved above the crowd, hours after federal authorities charged an alleged Kataib Hezbollah operative of plotting attacks on Jewish community centers and a Manhattan synagogue.

>The protest drew about 500 demonstrators carrying Palestinian flags to Washington Square Park, where chants of "globalize the intifada" rang out as one speaker declared Israel has no right to exist and said Palestinians would take over Israel "by any means necessary."

>Among them, a young anti-Israel demonstrator arrived, draped in the flag of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades — Hamas’s military wing — wearing it like a cape. The flag depicted a masked armed fighter beside the Dome of the Rock beneath green script in Arabic, declaring the shahada, or Muslim proclamation of faith. He also carried a flag featuring an image of Abu Obaida, the spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, who became one of the terror group’s most recognizable figures after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. Israeli forces killed him in 2025.

>Others followed wearing the green headbands of Hamas and carrying similar flags. Nearby, a protester carried Hezbollah’s bright yellow flag, featuring the organization’s recognizable green insignia of a stylized assault rifle incorporated into Arabic calligraphy.

>Chants throughout the evening rejected the idea of a two-state solution.
Protesters beat drums decorated with stickers reading, "By Any Means Necessary," while marchers carried a banner declaring, "From Gaza to Jenin. Revolution Until Victory."

Side note: before people criticize the source, there are plenty of videos on YouTube. These people are proud of supporting Hamas, Hezbollah. They're proud of rejecting a peace framework, of supporting revolution by "any means necessary". That this is happening in NYC of all places is still shocking to me. I support a free Palestine and the continued existence of a Jewish state in Israel. I think that the pendulum of outrage has swung too far.

How to budget here as moving in to nyc

Hi! I’m an incoming college student for NYU, and i am moving from Washington state to NYC.

I’m honestly scared on how I will be manage myself financially. My tuition is fully covered, but I do get around $5,037 per a month for housing allowance from my scholarship. But I don’t think I can spend all of it on just rent because I have to pay for food, electricity, basic supplies, and etc. I know food is expansive around there too. Also I am not living on campus

Should I be in a spot where I must get a part time job while attending college? I feel like because of my major and my goal to attend med school, I will be extremely busy studying, internships, I feel like a job will make it very difficult to balance everything.

Also very important, my scholarship will not give me housing allowance in months I am not attending college. So during breaks I will not get payed so I will some how need save thousands for 3 monthes.
