Business opportunities in Pangasinan

Reflecting on this one for a loooooong time. Family has background sa rice business, pharmacy ganyan.

suggestions to make employee a partner / owner

short context. I have a business of 15 years and is now being run by an employee of mine who has been with the company over 10 years.

I want to make her a partner in the company as a reward

currently, the company is registered under SEC as a partnership. AFAIK, this is not possible under current law to add members. proposed solution to me was to dissolve the company and create a new one as a corporation. this is too much hassle and not something I am willing to go through

any other suggestions from people who have experienced similar?

I own a restaurant near schools. And I’m just set to hit ROI, spent all my savings into this in 2024. Sales are good, people know us but the problem is I have lost buffer to cover this month because I’ve been shelling out money the past 2 months.

My primary market is back but it’s harder now because classes are alternate per week in CSB and DLSU went full online, nearby universities are already on vacation.

I don’t want to close down or sell because I know how big the potential it has. On good months we’re able to consistently make 700K- 1M in sales It’s just that the crisis really did hit us.

I would like to wsk for advice on what we can do

We Filipinos grew up with this. Now it’s in sourdough using real homegrown purple yam. Added queso de bola bits (Marca Pina brand). 5hr bulk fermentation, 14hr retard at 7C, bake at 270C. For your conversion needs (especially non US bakers) try my free tool: thebakersconverter.com. Hope it helps!

Need honest advice from business owners and investors.

There are already 3 people interested in investing.

I currently run a food business with strong potential and proven sales history, but we’ve been experiencing cash flow strain due to operational gaps, delayed obligations, and expansion pressure. Sales are still coming in, but managing timing, payables, and working capital has honestly been difficult lately.
I’m considering bringing in an investor/partner to help stabilize operations, improve systems, and give the business room to grow properly instead of constantly operating under pressure.
I also genuinely want to ask: would investors even consider putting money into a business that’s currently struggling with cash flow?
The business itself isn’t “dead” — it still has customers, sales, branding potential, and opportunities for growth — but finances became messy during scaling and operational stress. I know investors usually look for clean systems and stability, so I’m trying to understand if businesses in situations like this are still investable if the fundamentals are there.
For those who’ve experienced this:
What made a struggling business still worth investing in?
What would make you walk away immediately?
Is it smarter to seek an investor, or focus on fixing operations first before involving someone else?
What matters more to investors: profitability potential or clean financial structure?
Would appreciate honest insights, especially from founders or investors who’ve been through similar situations

Building a Modern Wellness Brand in the PH — Looking for Strategic Insights & Connections

Currently building a wellness consumer brand focused on convenience-based functional products for performance, recovery, focus, and lifestyle support.

We’re in the early-stage development phase with branding, packaging concepts, supplier sourcing, and product positioning already underway. The long-term vision is to build a scalable wellness ecosystem tailored for modern consumers in the PH market.

At the moment, I’m looking to connect with:
\- people experienced in FMCG/wellness
\- distribution operators
\- brand builders
\- founders
\- strategic partners
\- individuals familiar with scaling consumer products

Would appreciate insights, feedback, or conversations with people who understand the wellness or consumer space locally. Open to discussing the project further through DM.

There's a lot of coffee shops nowadays, I'm thinking to start one

Hi, I'm 36(M) and have been really in to coffee for as long as I can remember, Like been collecting coffee drippers for a long time (areopress, v60, vietco, flair espresso, moka pots), and I even convinced most of my friends to enjoy black coffee. Most of them always ask that I start my own pop-up coffee shop, since I work from home, I have at least 6-8 hours free every day.

My main background is actually in tech. I built apps and websites for businesses like this, and then I eventually transitioned to marketing. It's really boring now, sa work and looking for an outlet, and if kung maka-add siya sa income ko, that would be best.

I'm planning to open up a small pop-up coffee cart by June (I'm assuming it will be a hard hill to climb, and I'm not even optimistic, but I want to try). I'm planning to start a coffee bar for an event, then siguro mag-open ng coffee cart near my place. May dalawang school na malapit samin, so I assume foot traffic is not a problem. Then, and un sila sa lower middle class (not judging, but these are what my research says), and may parking space naman sa harap namin, which I feel ung magging advantage namin, plano ko dun ko patambayin mga future customer namin, ang challenge ko is may isang coffee shop na well established na dito samin like my tatlo na silang branch and malapit samin namin ung main.

What I did to start is gumawa ng business page, and for now, it's a vlog for coffee enthusiasts, 2 weeks in, and at least I have 300 likes (without even having a storefront and a legit business), for now, affiliate links lang ang ginagawa ko. Eventually, when I reach 2k followers, dun ko na sasabhin na mag-oopen ako ng coffee shop, so may following na.

My family has a 32 sqm place, but I don't see it being used in 3-6 months since mag-rerenovate din kami, siguro by next year pwde ko rentahan sa parents ko. Pero now coffee cart and coffee bar business ang plano ko.

Would you give me advice on how I would win this uphill battle?

As someone who's in the business industry. When i look into diving into new ventures, i try to estimate yung possible capital and operational expenses. And i correct ang understanding ko since self taught lang naman ako na entrep haha some business can end up as liability rather than an asset.

Wala lang, it makes me wonder because i have a few set of acquaintances lahat na ata ng business pinasok niya. 10+ gluta spas (with high rent), buy and sell ng kung anu ano (gold, aircon), may coffee shop din and pati paddle lahat. We are kind of related sa isang business and i can see them struggling to pay ay 10k amount. Laging one week or delayed etc. But really sa social media parang ang saga sagana or what.

Sorry di ko lang ma comprehend as someone who handles business with rents, pasahod, permits etc din na finofollow. Paano na mamaintain yung ganun. May kita ba talaga sila or nahihirapan na? Trying to maintain image lang? Or they have separate cash flow for each business?

Maybe i could learn more tips here. Pls no bashing. Genuinely, gusto ko matuto.

Good day po. Newbie lang here. Naghahanap po ako ng pwedeng paginvest'an ng naipon kong pera worth 150k since wala naman akong time and knowledge in starting a business. Sayang din naman if hayaan ko lang matulog sa bangko yung pera since tatalunin lang din ng inflation. Open po ako sa kahit anong business and willing to learn naman. All i need now is an opportunity I guess.

(I'm from Region 1 pala. So if ever there's someone here na malapit lang, mas better para mas mapag usapan ng maayos.)

Thank you guys!

Is starting a print business in the PH a good start?

I am currently an incoming freshman and I'm planning to start a printing business of my own so I can earn my own money (and so I won't financially burden my parents for college expenses) and I was thinking if should I start a printing business of my own. now im not sure if this is a good idea but i was thinking I could sell anime posters using my own graphic design as a start and also sell some keychains using my own work. (I'm rlly scared that I'll waste alot of money on this since I managed to saved up atleast 11k).

another problem is how do i sell them online since I don't have enough for a BIR to sell in online shopping platforms.

(below is a sample of my graphic design)

I heard this in an interview with Chinkee Tan, and as someone new to entrepreneurship, I’m wondering, where can I start learning these kinds of things?

For context, I’m based in Central Luzon and I want to get into entrepreneurship, but I’d prefer to build my knowledge first and gain some real insights.

I don’t have a specific business in mind yet.

I’ve seen some suggestions about going to LGU Negosyo Centers, but aside from those, where else can I attend seminars, expos, or similar events?

I’m open to any industry, and I’m also willing to travel to Metro Manila if there are worthwhile events.

For small business owners here—ano gamit niyong payment setup ngayon? Cash + transfer pa rin ba, or gumagamit na kayo ng QRPH?

Napapansin ko kasi parang mas convenient yung scan-and-pay setup, especially pag maraming customers.

Worth it ba siya in actual day-to-day operations? Curious lang sa real experience niyo.
