FIREing with kids pre-university
Lots of posts about post FIRE lifestyle change for the grown-ups, but for those who still have younger kids, how has your retirement affected their lifestyle (good or bad).
Obviously the financial considerations have already (hopefully) been taken into account, but what about the rest? I'm guessing most people enjoy the FIRE life because they can be more present for their children, whether its school, extracurriculars, or anything else that lets the kids live their best life. That said, I'm curious if/how the change is received by younger kids.
Has their view of work and money changed by seeing you 'not working'? Do they benefit from more travel and other experiences? Has anyone done anything bold, like switching to online schooling and traveling the country in an RV, or leaving the older kids alone so the parents can take extended an trip?
