Heya! I did a short review and showcase of painted models from the starter set (link below). Also trying to gather some people to the system in local clubs :) Really like this game!
I hope you guys might like this one I know it's begging for views but I'm currently out of work due to an injury and trying to make this work for me and the family
Painted my first Moonstone mini
What lovely models! Can't wait to work on more
Working away on nanny and wanted a kind of evil dead look, still needs work on the rest of the model with some highlights but happy with the face so far
I’ve never washed minis before, but I’ve never worked with this type of molded resin before. So I took the advice on the official Moonstone website and washed my Moonstone models with an old toothbrush using toothpaste and water and let them dry. Now, I’m using brush-on acrylic primer and the adherence is non-existent! I’ve used this primer a lot and, although it’s not the stickiest paint, it’s never beaded on the surface of a model this badly. Does anybody have sage advice?
Had a table booked at a local store for some 40K yesterday, wife came along after to play a game of moonstone. We had a learning game at my weekly games club night earlier in the week but this was our first time having a solo game.
Went really well, and as we were on the way out we had a browse and picked up this big idiot - seemed a good choice as he can ally into either half of the starter set.
Quickly built and primed him as my wife wanted another game at home (using janky 40K terrain)
Seems to synergise well with Sid, and some of his rules are great.
Then spent an hour or so slapping some paint on him - not finished but I can circle back and do the detail work later.
Both loving the game so far!
I'm coming over from Warhammer, but I don't know a tonne about Moonstone releases, are there often new models or factions or has it pretty much complete as is?
Personally I want to demo as many people as possible
I am not sure if all the starters list have 3 troupe.
I want a 4 troupe lists for a 1v1 demo game.
- Human ( baron, flintlock, squire, Kaufman)
2 goblin ( ???) - Faeries (???)
- Faun ( ???)
- gnome(???)
- ?????
Maybe I can piece something together.
Help me make some lists please.
The rest of faun troupe ready just in time for today's game. Rushed the basing a bit & spilt a load of superglue on my clothes (F for a new T-shirt!), but happy with how they turned out.
Hi all :)
Me and my friends have picked up the life and death struggle starter kit and it's our first time working with Resin miniatures and we just have a few questions
Do we need to prepare the miniatures by washing them ? We have seen advice to always wash resin miniatures with warm soapy water ? (This was mostly about older Warhammer kits)
Do we need to wear masks when clipping and filing? There are a bunch of articles saying if you drill you have to wear a mask but no clear answer for "usual" model building
Thanks for any help :)
Looking at the two startersets I really can't decide bettween them.
Which one do you recommend and why?
I have basically no wargame/skirmish game experience.
But I do play board and card games a lot.
Ans after that what (sub)faction?
I like to either grind my opponents out or be proactive and be the one asking the questions.
