Finally had a "that guy" experience

Me and my friend finally met a "that guy" (referred to as TG for ease)

We went to our local this weekend for a game of AOS , we have been in the AOS hobby for about 2/3ish years but have been playing tabletop games for a lot longer.

We arent super competitive, we just want to hang out have a laugh and enjoy the hobby.

We are quite lucky that our local is warhammer world, so we arrived with our armies (FEC for me and CoS for my friend) we set up and start our game, a few people come over and have a chat with us, compliment our models and generally being quite nice.

TG wanders over and mentions that its nice to see AoS representation, and he stays for awhile and then wanders off. Then he keeps coming over and makes himself comfortable on a stool next to us - and thats when it starts to get a little annoying, he starts questioning my moves, correcting my battle trait rules (when he gets wrong), commenting on my friends dice and tutting when we allow retroactive moves/things, and its starting to feel like our 2 player game is turning into a 3 player game.

We started to reply with one word answers to hopefully give him the hint that his not welcome/his behaviour isn't ideal (on reflection we should have just told him to jog on but alas we didn't want to seem like aholes)

He does go away and then he comes back again, I mess up on a rule in the fight phase, my gorewarden wiped the last remains of a squad of steelhelms and then i moved onto a combat with a ghoul king and went first again (so we didn't alternate) and TG kicks up a right fuss about it. My friend isn't bothered and says as much but TG isn't having it at this point we are both pissed and I tell him that we don't need a rules lawyer and his ruining our game and he needs to piss off. He mumbled under his breath and went over to the other side of the hall and then left.

Thankfully we had time to finish our game in which i was beaten by 5 points!!! but we were quite annoyed and it took the shine off our day (which is a shame as they are usual the highlights of our week)

And there you have it my friends our tale of "that guy"

Hi all :)

Me and my friends have picked up the life and death struggle starter kit and it's our first time working with Resin miniatures and we just have a few questions

Do we need to prepare the miniatures by washing them ? We have seen advice to always wash resin miniatures with warm soapy water ? (This was mostly about older Warhammer kits)

Do we need to wear masks when clipping and filing? There are a bunch of articles saying if you drill you have to wear a mask but no clear answer for "usual" model building

Thanks for any help :)
