Mits Gwalior Or Second Drop (Partial)

Hey seniors, need some genuine advice.

I’m confused whether I should take a tech branch in Madhav Institute of Technology and Science this year or prepare for JEE again as a double dropper while being in college.

My main concerns are:

  • placements and opportunities in MITS
  • coding culture / peer group
  • whether grinding from MITS can still lead to good off-campus opportunities
  • and honestly, whether taking a double drop would be worth the risk mentally and career-wise

I don’t want sugarcoated answers. If any senior was in a similar situation or has seen people regret/not regret choosing MITS, please guide me honestly.

Would really appreciate genuine opinions from seniors currently in tech branches. 🙏

I’ve noticed something interesting in Gwalior:

There are ambitious, creative, and growth-focused people here — but everyone feels disconnected.

People interested in startups, books, building things, self-improvement, tech, business, creative work, etc. don’t really have a common space to interact consistently.

I was thinking about creating something small initially, but I’m trying to understand what people would actually value most.

Which of these would genuinely interest you?

  • An ambitious discussion/community group
  • Online startup-style discussions/networking
  • Online book reading & discussion club
  • Offline book club / meetup
  • Builder/accountability circle
  • Skill-sharing or collaboration group

Or maybe something else entirely?

I’m more interested in creating something meaningful than just another inactive group, so I’d love honest opinions.

Is MITS worth it if my goal is not placement?

So I’m a professional taekwondo athlete and I currently run my dad’s business and I’m from Gwalior , I gave JEE last year and was getting IITR geophysical but took a drop as had to takeover dad’s business but I couldn’t focus on my jeeprep due to the business stuff and ended up with 3.2 lac gen rank , so I just wanted to ask like my goal is to go aboard for masters and I have great extra curriculars and my career in taekwondo would be done for by the time I turn 23 , so in my case , what do you think , MITS is reallly that bad or I can just enjoy the 4 years???

I’m getting electronics most probably
